I know I could google, but.. y'know..
Anyone got some really light boots for say running/walking up and down big hills/rocky bits and so on. I reckon some kind of run/walk adventure could be fun.
Just use trail running shoes. Boots are dreadful for fast and light work IME.
[quote=molgrips ]I did once, found it hard on my ankles after a while, would rather have had boots.
Because of twisting? The ones in the pic will do very little to help with that, and even lightweight walking boots don't actually do a lot. If it's something you have an issue with then get proper ankle supports or tape them.
I've been up lots of big mountains in trail/fell running shoes, and don't actually have great ankles, but they get stronger through use.
Walsh developed a boot for runners to wear when running the Fellsman event in the dales (where the original rules stipulated that you had to wear boots to do the event)

think the Walsh Fellsman is now a "casual wear" boot - but they still do a PB Elite Boot

Yeah it was just something I was musing on. I did get tired ankles, but I suppose that would of course get stronger. Those Merrells might help keep your feet dry though.
I don't really have shoes suitable for such an endeavour so I would probably need to purchase something.
