Whats the generic advice? My door card says 2.4bar all around and is not specific to RFT or normal tyres. However, internet best practice states:
a) RWD should have a lower pressure at the front, to act against washout oversteer
b) RFT tyres should be run at slightly higher pressures - somewhere between the normal and high load tyre pressure - to mitigate the stiff sidewalls being prominent on the road by elevating the centre of the tread.
Thoughts?
Do what the door card says its probably correct. As for RFT / non RFT I've run both on the same car and mixed front / rear and simply followed the door card pressures.
Assuming the manufacturer did some homework when they specced them for your car, go with what they tell you.
to act against washout oversteer
understeer? Do you have that problem a lot?
Sorry I meant understeer.
And no I don't, just what I've read.
I used to stick 34psi all round on both my 530d sport tourings.
Some said they felt the ride harsh but I never found that.
I never used to up the pressure even when towing yachts or filled full of windsurfing gear..
Never had a puncture either IIRC in 176k and 260k respectively..
Thoughts?
you overthink.
do what the door card says.

Ok, done, back to 2.4bar / 35psi all round.
