Just discussing old songs we like with my youngest, she couldn't name a song, but she then said "you know, Chicken Bagel".

Instantly I realised what I had done. When they were little I would make her and her sister a quick lunch, chicken pieces in a bagel was a common occurrence and when it was ready, rather than just give them their food. I would sing 'chicken bagel' which was in fact 'prince charming' by Adam and the ants with a number of lyrical edits... In her head now that song is forever about chicken bagels, I've ruined it.

Has anyone else knacked a song for a loved one?

Only by trying to sing the actual song...so that is pretty much every song I've attempted!

Alan Partridge has ruined several tunes for me over the years.... the Kate Bush and Abba medleys and of course Gaudete by Steeleye Span
