Hope Joubert enjoys his holiday.

Refereeing needs to be looked at very seriously. High tackles, killing ball etc, all went unpunished. One point?

Blimey, 1 try 1 kick, to 1 try 1 kick.
Can't say I predicted that!

The right World Champions though. Well done ABs.

Thought the French played very well, but well done to the ABs. I think the IRB really need to look at the refereeing; has been fairly inconsistent throughout the competition.

Abs def deserved it over the tournament but France stepped up tonight. Given how written off they were, they can be proud of that.

fairly inconsistent throughout the competition.

Agreed inconsistent is not good enough.

France must also cite McCheat for that knee. Not out of sour grapes, but for fair play.

Still, well done NZ. Must be a weight off the shoulders!

Well said TJ.
Overall, the ABs have been the best team in the tournament by some distance.
Well done NZ, congratulations.

watched it in a pub full of irate kiwis all shouting 'faaack!' in unison.
Very entertaining.
Felt sorry for Weepu as he played well in the last two games.
Ruggery was man of the match for me.
Good final (second half anyway) for the neutral.

The refereeing is always going to be open to question when there are so many silly rules in the game, particularly some of the rules about the scrums, rucks and mauls - even the professional refs I know seem to spend ages arguing over decisions.

Anyway well done to the All Blacks who were the best team over the whole competition, and well done to France for making an exciting final.

Well I wouldn't have wanted to be on duty in the cardiac response team anywhere in NZ for that game.

Seriously thought they were going to lose it. Great game by France, wish they had played like that all tournament.

Well done McCaw et al. Prevented 4 million Kiwis commiting suicide

Fantastic 2nd half. Well done to the All Blacks but congratulations to the French as well. If that's a team in disarray I'd hate to see a well organised, harmonious French side.

Well I thought France were better side in the 2nd half and could have stolen it but I'm delighted for the whole of NZ that they've finally won it again.

Thanks to everyone who's made this thread so enjoyable.

But the best thing is.......

I won't have to watch ITV for another four years. 🙂

Blimey Flash you revealed yourself as a bit of a dick during that game. How about Dusotoir stamping on Mcaw? Calling Graham Henry a cockwipe???? Have a sit down and think about it eh.

A brilliant thread and a great competition I think the best side in the world have been crowned Champions.

Thanks to all who have contributed.

Overall NZ were worthy winners, they do live on the edge a bit as i have always noted, they must do more high tackles forward passes and ruck infringments than every other team put together.

The real loosers were the refs, who i think had a pretty poor world cup overall, realy some shocking refing.

And ITV coverage which was so poor its almost laughable. Still would rather them than Sky.

Looking forward to next WC and Scotland going all the way :oD

Well that was a good night. France really showed what a danger they are when written off by people like me. On the wave of,optimism last week I predicted we would smash them but revised my optimism this week. Fair play they stepped up to the Haka and showed us a great game.
While not the best All Blacks game we did what we normally forget to and that is win. Whatever anyone says you can't take that away. And Stephen Donald, Jesus, poor guy but he did bluddy well. Just amazing atmosphere last night and will continue for a while yet. We've had such. Bastard run this year with Pike River and thenChCh earthquake it was about time we got the rub of the green.
For all the haters of course it was the ball, the refs, richie cheating blah blah blah we were lucky, we didn't deserve it. But we did it and that will do me thanks.

I dont think anyone would say they didnt deserve to win, they were for sure the class act of the tournament.

As a Scot i always want the underdog to win, its pre programmed in us!!

Go and get sexual acquaintances with yourself. I couldn't care less about the result of the game, but this kind of xenophobic lame jokes is getting on my nerves.

Which just goes to show that rugby is now accepting the football hooligan mentality, not a good thing. 🙁

Sorry Juan, did you not see the tongue in cheek?

Far from surrendering, you should be proud of your team's performance, starting with their stance on the Haka!

I still think the best way to deal with the Haka is to ignore it as campese used to do.

Didn't Wales stand up to the Haka at the Millennium Stadium once? I seem to remember Carter saying it was an insult or some such, saying that if you did that in Aukland it meant 'something'.... 😕

Seeing as they were performing a war dance in the middle of Cardiff, I'd suggest that it's the ABs who needed to look at who was being unreasonable....

Why should the Haka be banned? It's all part of the ceremony for me, it's not intimidating, probably more intimidating than the english doing a morris dance, but generally harmless. 😛

Ka Mate is much better than the new shite one. The all Blacks got all precious over the Wales getting a fat man to sing after the Haka not long ago, led to them not doing it the next time. More recently they all had a staring competition and the ref got all upset because he wanted to start the game. The best was [s]Donal Lenihan[/s] (apparently it was Anderson) and his boys though

I love the Haka but why get so precious about it, does it really matter if a fat welshman sings Men of Harlech after it?

Always a shame
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/15419816.stm

just need Tindall to do the same now, or is he too busy trying to avoid tunnels with central pillars anyway?

Oh and Zokes, explain to me how that vid doesnt have a double red for Wales, inconsistent shit from the refs again just makes Rolland look even more stupid, even though he did the right thing according to the rules. AW Jones caught another Aussie with a similar tackle too.

they did not lift him as high and did not drop him on his head. so thats two reasons why no red card

AA get over it - Warburtons card was harsh but merited.

Player of teh tournament? For me Piri Weepu

He was not supposed to be the main man, might not even have played but after injuries he ended up as the all blacks main playmaker and rose to the occasion. Taking the kicks from hand and mixing the game up. Kept his cool.

Jerome kaino for me by miles. Un firkin believable every single game.
Edit: Piri was good but amazingly rattled last night.
Steve Donald was saying today that the crowd were shouting at him "why are you wearing a tank top" hahahaha had to wear Crudens top and they are somewhat different in stature
