So who else is looking forward to this weekends Games? - Edinburgh go to Cardiff for a tight game - Edinburgh on a roll and if they win this game the really are in the driving seat in the group. Away wins are crucial.
Cardiff look strong in the forwards. Edinburgh may have problems at the set peice with Geoff Cross a weak link and no tall forwards for lineouts.
However its a very exciting and attacking set of backs Edinburgh have. I will back them to score tries. There is the added spice of desperate dan(parks) at stand off for Cardiff. Want to take a bet he gets smashed to the ground early on and pressured to drop deep? Edinburgh back row will give Cardiff a hard time
Gonna be a cracker.
Is it on the tele ? I had an Edinburgh season ticket many years ago, but lost interest when they started playing at Meadowbank. Rubbish stadium and no decent pubs in the vicinity.
Massively exciting for Edinburgh this year, 2 big wins to start and from what i have heard the last mach could end up being match of the tournament. Hope they can hold it together in Cardiff as it will give them an exclent base to progress out of the group stages this year.
Scarlets v Munster - I have a feeling Munster might well lose to them for the first time since '07. Scarlets are displaying very good cup form - Munster are only scraping victories and are missing Howlett. Should be a cracker of a game though. Wish I was going. I was there a few years ago at Stradey Park and we had a great day and evening. Really nice bunch of fans.
EDIT: I reckon if Munster win the game, then they'll top the group. If Scarlets win, then it'll most likely all hinge on the return fixture at Thomond Park.
It's good to see Scarlets strong again.
I'd take Caerdydd to win that one, I'm afraid.
Spreys v Salaries? That could be a great game, as could Quins v Toulouse. In fact, I think that latter could be awesome. Given Quins current roll of form and Toulouse being, well, Toulouse!
hels - MemberIs it on the tele ?
Sky sports - need a pirate feed if you haven't got sky.
http://mypremium.tv/ seems good at the moment
http://www.vipbox.tv/ also usually has feeds
Not really, Glaws are all but down and out 😕
Not looking forward to Weegies Vs Montpellier.
Trinh Duc, Gorgodze, Privat, Nagusa and Audrin are all being rested after playing (and winning) three matches in a week, so progression to the next round is starting to look less likely. 😥
I'm off to Wembley tomorrow 😀
C'mon the 'spreys!
My money is on Cardiff to beat Edinburgh and Scatlets to beat Munster......
Oh........and Tigers cheating a win against Clermont
LOL@ frankers. tigers? cheat? Never
Edinburgh could well beat Cardiff. Got to get some ball and close down Parks / Roberts. Needs a great game from Grant, Denton and King tho
Who cares what the tiggers do tbh. They don't figure in the HC anymore.
Quins Toulouse tonight has to be the pick in my view. Potential England skipper Chris Robshaw on show. I wonder if Stuart Lancaster will be popping across the road from his new office to have a shufti?
As a Irish Fan - we need an away win in Paris and a draw in Cardiff. I am not suer that this is going to happen. Watched Irish lose to both Edinburgh and Cardiff and reckon that Cardiff should win quite easily. Irish have zero creativity at the moment and could have beaten Edinburgh at Irish! As it we are going to get stuffed in Paris by some large scoreline!
Let's wait and see DD, Tigers definately got the bit between the teeth at the moment after poor start to the season
Fighting talk there chaps
Come on the tigers!
Ospreys will lose against Saracens 😥 but I will be watching the mighty Whites take on Currie.
Cardiff Blues: Leigh Halfpenny; Alex Cuthbert, Casey Laulala, Jamie Roberts, Chris Czekaj; Dan Parks, Lloyd Williams; Gethin Jenkins, Rhys Thomas, Tau Filise, Bradley Davies, Paul Tito, Michael Paterson, Sam Warburton, Xavier Rush.Replacements: Ryan Tyrrell, John Yapp, Scott Andrews, Maama Molitika, Josh Navidi, Richie Rees, Ceri Sweeney, Gavin Evans.
Edinburgh: Chris Paterson; Lee Jones, Nick De Luca, James King, Tim Visser; Harry Leonard, Greig Laidlaw; Allan Jacobsen, Ross Ford, Geoff Cross, Sean Cox, Esteban Lozada, David Denton, Roddy Grant, Stuart McInally.
Replacements: Steve Lawrie, Kyle Traynor, Jack Gilding, Steve Turnbull, Ross Rennie, Mike Blair, John Houston, Tom Brown.
Very strong Cardiff team will be disappointed if they dont win.
think all the Welsh teams have a very good chance... im biased.
but my team are in the paper heineken cup (dragons) 🙁
so f*cked off its on Sky!!
Hmm. Might have to revise my view. Quins are coming off second best to Toulouse at half time and are going to have to do something special in the second half to come out on top of this one.
Looks like the Burghers are getting a bit stuffed.
Good win for cardiff not much of a game though. Still hate that clown Dan Parks
I never tire of seeing Quins lose.
Damn we lost, still losing to Toulouse isnt anything to be to ashamed of!
I never tire of seeing Quins lose.
Whys that?
😀

Great win for Munster. By jove, Botha was immense today. That last Munster scrum was a wonder to observe.
Didn't end up seeing much of the Edinburgh game - sounds like a not great game and a poor performance from Edinburgh. Not taking chances again.
Botha good Oirish name that 😉
Treviso 30 - 26 Biarritz
😯
Amazing result check out the Biarritz try in my other thread fantastic rugby.
Good for Treviso - strong Italian teams is good for european rugby
BJ O'Botha I believe he's called. Mind you, even the Bull, at 38, would have owned the Scarlets front row by himself today. 😛
Three games; 8 points more scored, how strong is the Darcy ticker? 😀
Good to see Grandpa Hayes come on, a man so old even I have played against him. (a truly scary speed for inhaling a pint in a boat race BTW,if you hadn't sussed that out by looking at him)
duckie, to be honest, I don't think they'll get past the QFs (unless it's a home draw...in which case, they might get to the semis). Of course, I'm assuming they'll qualify from the group, which you'd have to say they should with two away victories. But with no bonus points, they may well be in the bottom half of the draw.
Anyway, I'm not sure they're in the top four teams in Europe this season - far from their best. Compelling games to watch though. Leinster are still the stronger Irish province at the moment (IMO).
Best four are (based on thus far) Toulouse and three others. How much did they boss Quins? Leinster should be my province as we have an association with Lansdowne, but God they are dull, mind you it has worked for them before. English clubs have been a bit off the pace this year. You normally expect a level of dog from the English sides that carries them through, but an element of lethargy from them this year.
Toulouse are, however, very much like the quinze de France. Superb, undeniably brillant, but also unpredictable. Who knows which Toulouse you'll be playing?
The one that played last night at a freezing Stoop? I suspect they are wee bit above the whole don't travel thing we like to point at the French.Of course they will now lose at home forcing me to eat humble deep fried mars bar.
Good win for glasgow. Weir a good steady game, Grey seems to have lost some sparkle tho. Hogg in great form at full back, Rory Lamont a couple of good runs. Are we seeing some decent backs emerging for Scotland at last?
Nice win for Leinster continuing Irish domination over English rugby at both club and international level.
Bath...another team I could never tire of seeing lose.
Bravisimo DD - get the snipes in first. 'tis true tho
Leicester next.
Odds on Leicester getting into double figures on penalties and / or getting yellow cards 😉 ?
Easy prediction for once :-)_
Leicester's fate was sealed when Manu Tuilagi and George Chuter were sin-binned and Fofana scored twice before Clermont gave away a late penalty try.
So even a scoreline of 30-12 flatters Leicester. The. Cheating. Bastards.
Two yellow cards too - shocking.
Clermont Auvergne are a bloody hard prospect away - even Munster lost there back in 08/09. So what kind of chance a team like Leicester would have, I have no idea.
Knew the score, just waiting for Phineas and Ferb to (ph)inish before I savour it. Probably with some Orkney Dark Island
Hoping for better result at Welford Road next week
Grey seems to have lost some sparkle tho.
Which is a shame as he is coming to Sale next season 😥
I am sue he will get it back - and still made some good yards with a good few carries and a bunch of tackles.
Good win for glasgow. Weir a good steady game, Grey seems to have lost some sparkle tho. Hogg in great form at full back, Rory Lamont a couple of good runs. Are we seeing some decent backs emerging for Scotland at last?
Awful first half for them against Montpellier B, woke up in the second, abeit winning because of some silly fouls by Monty (and the fact that playing Bost and Martin promises at least one yellow)
Glas will be disappointed to have given away a defensive bonus to a seriously understrength team.
Grey is not sure of starting for Scotland just now. Kelloch and Hines would start based on Hines's game yesterday. Maybe better if he disappears into a Stockport relegation battle.
Hines has retired from internationals
There you go; thats a pity as he was superb yesterday.
🙄Stockport relegation battle.
****in French cheatin bastards !!!
Cheating Welsh ref !!
Duckman - Sale are doing fairly well thank you very much!
Surfer - you off to the Budgies game on Boxing Day? Quite looking forward to it, although not as much fun with the Albanian flags since the sourfaced barsteward left to go to Twickenham!
Ospreys went out with a wimper last night 😥
At least you were in it Pigface - Sale need to stay in the top half of the Prem to attain that next year, mind you after the last few yrs that will be more than enough!
Sorry, but of all the Welsh teams i hate Opsreys. I've had fantastic nights/afternoons with Dragons and Scarlets supporters, even the Blues fans were great fun but only the Ospreys fans ran up to stick two fingers up at us and spit at us 😥
They (the Welsh sides) hardly merit hating. They're just good sides for picking up bonus points against for the dominant sides in the competition. 🙂
I like Scarlets best of all. Great fans. I think the Ospreys fans all wear red/white reversible jerseys don't they? They're definitely a bit footballish.
I just think it was really sad (once i'd calmed down - not happy about being spat at). The other Welsh fans have been brilliant, as much fun as the Munster fans i reckon and that's saying something!
I have a very vague recollection of standing on a table singing some strange Welsh rugby song whilst the NG-Dragons mob poured rum down my throat - i don't remember getting home thats for sure!
Why are Ospreys different?
Good win for Edinbugh, good win for Leicester - pity tho they get away with blocking - such a clear block for the first try. And I hate the use of imaginary injuries to props to allow rotation. Castro subed with 35 mins to go,guess what - 10 mins later the prop who has been on since the beggining gets an injury and has to go off allowing the refreshed Castro back on.
Still Clermont had a lead that they should have won from and blew it. Good win Leicester.
Glasgow with a must win game next up 🙂
The Ospreys fans were just saying hello Dwarf 😉 you know what with us Welsh being phlegm spitters.
Ospreys have been awful each time I have seen them this year and it seems to me that Biggar is the main culprit.
Scablets arent even worth mentioning not suprised DD likes them 😉
So that's what it was - a welcome in the valleys!! 🙂 No, just a bunch of kids acting like football fans but it left a nasty taste in the mouth (figuratively speaking!) Still, i know the rest aren't like that - everytime i got to a CRC Marathon event in Wales it's sited on a Rugby club so lots of nice folk to chat to 🙂
Well deserved win for Tigers......
Cheating French and shit Welsh ref but Tigers dominated 2nd half
Tigers are still in !!!!!
Frankers - plenty of cheating from Leicester. Block on the first try, manipulation of the props, plus other blocking
Leicester deserved the win tho
Glasgow / Montpellier is not the best of games and Glasgow do not look like scoring
Phew - a bit of robbery but a draw away from home is OK
Not enough to qualify tho I think
Sorry TJ you're wrong !!!!
Clearmont played well in 1st half but Tigers dominated second half, cheating was by French......... end off!!!
Anyway wins a win
Even teh sky comentators saw the blocks 🙂
tigers deserved to win - or perhpas clermont did not.
Anyway wins a win
You sound like Neil Back. One. Of. The. Greatest. Cheating. Bastards. Of. All. Time.
DD; it was 12 years ago, get over it....Connacht have come a long way.
DD; it was 12 years ago, get over it....Connacht have come a long way.
I am over it 😀
I just like to remind myself and everyone else what cheating bastards they are. 😉
Leicester still have to come to Belfast, we will be ready and waiting.
A little something to whet the whistle:
Top of the table, that'll do for me!
SUFTUM!!!!
LOLz.
Even in that short clip, I saw cheating at the scrum and at the ruck...from Leicester. The cheating bastards. So they've always been at it.
Don't worry DD, you know what happens to cheats in Belfast!!!
Superb first half from the Edinburgh forwards last night. Best I've seen them play all season. Just a pity they didn't really bury Cardiff in the first 40. Very frustating about letting the bonus point slip right at the end, but still a very good win.
Even in that short clip, I saw cheating at the scrum and at the ruck...from Leicester. The cheating bastards. So they've always been at it.
Leicester cheating? Surely not. Oh hang on, Neil Back!!
Kenny the Edin forwards really got stuck in last night, I was really impressed at how they got stuck in
I think tar and feathering Leicester players is fine but would be frowned on by the powers that be, I would also be amenable to the odd knee capping (huge generalization about NI) 😉
KennyP - Laidlaw? How was he? I didn't see the game but really want to know what the best 9 and 10 options are.
I have to say I am really enjoying this Heinkeken cup
Teams that play a fast and attractive rugby are winning, lots of good games, Scots teams doing OK
Leinster look fairly unbeatable today tho
I was there...... no cheating from Leicester
You didn't see the cheating French, I was shocked at their unsporting behaviour tbh..... Tut !!
