The reverse angle shown after the conversion taken showed the foot clearly in touch how was that not used by video ref?

AA, front on looked like foot was down, didn’t from the side.

I thought likelihood too, but the angle of the foot didn't change, if the toe had touched with force I guess you would expect the ankle to rotate. It could have been the lightest brush but once given on the field then I suppose there was nothing definitive.

Ball - I think by logic something would have touched on the bulgey bit, even if the lightest initial touch before it rotated and compressed. The sort of light touch the foot probably made, in fairness, but they couldn't extrapolate.

If they hadn't called try on field, no way they'd have given it.

Well they could have done best of three with the view they didn't show till afterwards!

Ireland have been so good this half I am now worried that Wales are actually really good but were just up against the best team in the world. It’s shite being Scottish.

I was just about to say that DuPont was having a bit of a poor game. Trying a bit too hard, perhaps. But that try saving tackle was amazing!

Even though the Irish co commentator said it was great skill from Hansen!!!!!!

Don’t worry, Wales are shit!!

Scotland should run away with it this afternoon. Put a big score on a weak and inexperienced Wales. If Ireland and France continue to play so openly, Scotland might start licking their lips in anticipation 😀

Having seen the third angle now, that shouldn't have been given (well - based on what they originally showed it should.... is it an Irish TV director?)

Haha! Just seen that, TMO at it there. Mind you France are lucky to have 15 for the second half.

After tomorrow I’m swapping places with TJ behind the sofa, any England supporter must feel a total respect for these teams and an immense amount of impending doom.

3 halves of amazing Rugby to come!

Ireland are presenting better to him and the game he wants to play in all fairness. Hold on! How many players did he send off last year to suit Wales? Fickle AA,fickle.

I just loved that game. A game befitting of the top 2 in the world. So much to love about it. It’s the first time in a long time I felt with around ten to go*, “we’ve got this…”  🇮🇪

*EDIT: Against France!!

I also think DuPont’s tackle might be one of the best I’ve ever seen. I can say that now of course…

Well, I wasn’t expecting that to be as entertaining as it was. Great game. I’d be cock-a-hoop if I was an Ireland fan. They’re well on track for the grand slam now. I can’t see England beating them. Whilst Scotland have a once in a generation team, playing at their best, Ireland have had their number for a while now.

I wouldn’t be too disheartened as a France supporter either, they played some lovely rugby. The loss might even do them some good.

Fingers crossed the Scotland v Wales game is as entertaining. Hopefully it won’t be as good as over after 10 minutes, like last week.

Me too. I’m so convinced Scotland should win comfortably, that I’m not feeling the usual trepidations. Hoping for some great tries 😀

The Wales bench is exciting too. There’s the possibility of them coming on and doing something special.

As a neutral for this game, despite my 1/8th Welshness (😂), I expect Scotland to win handsomely then bollox it up against Italy.

Meanwhile, I expect England to bollox it up against everyone. Wooden spoon is still a trophy, no?? 🤷🏼‍♂️

We did draw the short straw on refs.  Brace and Murphy.

Either of the yellows today could have been red.  The French one was prob a stronger case for red

The quality gap in attack between this game and the previous is a bit glaring

It’s not going to be Wales’s day today, too many points not converted. Gone are the days when  Wales had ‘forgotten how to lose’ - then any sniff and we’d score. Scotland need to do a bit more to live up to the hype methinks.

I think you'll be fine!! Scotland played well in the end. Wales bench wasn't up to much.

Still I am loving Tshinza and Jenkins did very well...next week can we put Grady at 13 and see what happen!

That Wales team will be good soon enough but bigger is not quite there anymore.  They need a quality 10. Only home nation not to have 10 and a spare

Simple fact is Wales don't have the players. It doesn't bother me that much when we get beaten by a better team. Shit happens.

Martin Johnson questioning that performance by saying "we'll see where they are in two games time".  Aye you know what. We'll see where you are after the competition.

Hastings is not to shabby. Granted he's no Russell but he's better than most as is kinghorn. Actually Hogg wouldn't be the worst 10 in the WC.

Literally the 75th till I felt we were going to win, nice for that feeling to not be against Italy for a change.

If Anscombe could string some games together Wales would look a lot better.

Next...who is next?

Anyway

Williams (no one else)

LRZ

Grady

Hawkins

Adams

Biggar (no one else)

Webb

Faletau

Morgan

Tshiunza

Beard

Jenkins

Lewis

Owens

Wyn Jones (Smith would be my pick but not in squad)

If we could move heaven and Earth not to have Brown and Baldwin on the bench that would be nice.

No Cuthbert then? In all fairness, despite the presence of Biggar and Jiffy I felt a tiny bit sorry for Wales when he came on.

Good job Scotland, we are all at sea at the moment, some chinks of sunlight but all a bit bleak at the moment. IMO reaping what the clowns at the WRU have sown.

No Cuthbert then?

I suspect Adams will be injured so Fluffbert will be on!! Watching him try to decide which way to run when Russell was about to kick was quite funny he was much happier when VDM just ran at him!!

he was much happier when VDM just ran at him!!

I pretty much forgot he was playing until the very end of the game.

Wales were dreadful, but they still have some decent players and some of the younger ones looked like they may well come good. I also thought Webb, Patchell and Carre looked decent when they got on. I’m going to pray that by the end of the tournament, once the new coaching team have had a chance to do something, Wales will start to play more coherently. The game against Italy is going to be super tense. I’ll have to buy a decent sofa - maybe a Scotland fan on here doesn’t need theirs anymore? 😉

Only Ireland and Scotland can win a slam now.

Aargh dont put that pressure on us!

Mind you, Wales gave us our last 5 nations win, maybe history will repeat itself?

“Tshiunza and Jenkins have been so good.”

Yup, I got that wrong. Reffell was quiet in contrast to his performances in the prem.

Much less opportunity to jackel against such well drilled teams maybe?

Quiet is probably unfair and Tshiunza stands out more as he carries and jumps, but I had expected him to have had more impact. Mind you, apart from last 15 of the first half it would have been hard for him build momentum yesterday and our back row is a pretty settled unit.

Reffel was quiet but then it might be that in international games you just have less time. There are more turn overs in Gallagher prem games. The style of play is different.

Again the reason we need to bring more teams into autumn internationals, different styles of game. Japan and Georgia play different games you have to adapt to. England are tier 1 team who can't/couldn't adapt.  Farrell has played at sarries and England under very strict structures, he looks like he finds it hard to play outside those structures. Your game plan works if you can also adapt. How often do commentators say that England/sarries need to impose their game plan on the match. Very good when they can but struggle when they can't. Scotland's unstructured play was backed up with well drilled defence.
