That'll be the end of the Namibian 12s competition. Sore one, foot pointing the wrong direction.

Yeah that looked grim. You could hear the ref's immediate response too, turned around straight away and couldn't look in that direction

AA - what happened to Sheedy and Jarrod Evans? They were both on their way to being decent 10 options for Wales. They just disappeared off the roster…

Sheedy's form dropped off a cliff at Bristol and Jarrod Evans signed for Quims I think so is ineligible.

Anscombe has been awful, I guess that's what happens when you have only played about twice in two years 😟. Feel a bit sorry for the guy

I'm enjoying that there are fewer total mismatches in this RWC.  Wales really needed to toil for that bonus point.

Lovely Portugal try. They played some lovely rugby.
Wales were pretty dire. Usual second team lack of cohesion. Falatau is Wales' one true World class player - he had a great game. It's a shame LRZ can produce a try from nothing, as Adams and Dyer together offer more for the team as a whole. Oh, how I wish Rhys Patchell was still in the mix.
Given all that, two 5 point games so far, so things could be a lot, lot worse.

Is it? I think it's pretty good.

Dyer is a headless chicken....fast though

Faletau is a true great imo.

Tonga illustrating why physicality alone simply isn't enough.

Everyone loves a bit of bosh and the tackles that make the whole stadium go "ooo", but the players are so well prepared nowadays those hits often barely register, get the defence over-excited, and they then often give away a penalty.

Tonga are actually quite ponderous and slow - obviously in the international rugby sense, they're still incredible athletes viewed against mere mortals.

</span>

also this. I’ve given myself a headache trying to think through all the possible mathematical connotations for wales to still qualify if Fiji win, but would still love to see it happen

Can't wait to watch England crush all of Japan's joy for playing rugby later - with an attritional narrow win. 🙄

Interfering with the tackled player on the ground. It's not Fiji Aus have a charmed life in world cups (that's Craig Joubert bitterness still rankles) and I'm ABA.

What a game this has been. Much less stressful when you're a neutral. Fiji have been great at the breakdown.
Ref has had a good game imho.

Nothing good, although no bonus point for Fiji, shame they couldn't land that last kick to deny Aus the losing bonus point.

Erm..... didn't the ref just get informed of a no-arms tackle by a Japanese player and he did absolutely nothing about it!!!

Dear lord!

When was the last time England crafted a try through their own attacking play rather than lumping the ball up in the air and hoping for a mistake?

Both teams look fairly awful. Japan look better with ball in hand, England look dire in attack. Centre partnership doesn't look like it's working to me

If Japan can resist the urge to run it from their own half they look to have the beating of England......

@ads678

Can you get on LinkedIn and see if you can get a punditry job with ITV? I'm sure messrs Wilkinson and Woodward would prefer to leave the summing up to you. So many words, but the upshot is...

What a load of shit so far, from both teams.

The ref IS good. He’s having to ref dross but he’s trying his best.
I don’t know what to call this version of rugby that England are trying to play it it is painful.
Kicking. Is that really all they can think of?
What’s gone wrong and why?

The ref is the best performer on the pitch.

I think England have forgotten that you need to actually have possession of the ball to score. This is dire.  Nice header by Marler, who’s spotted that we are indeed playing football.

Courtney Lawes eyelid is going to need to be sewn back on. 🤮
