As an England supporter its great that they are through.  However, the accomplishment is tainted by knowing they had an easier route

As a Scotland fan (who wanted Fiji to win), there's nothing tainted about it. You can only beat what's in front of you and England have done very well. Okay they aren't the greatest England team  ever, by some considerable way, but they are in a semi-final. Something Scotland couldn't do.

But huge plaudits to Fiji. Some moments of utter brilliance today, just let down by conceding daft penalties. I've loved watching them though. Hopefully world rugby will encourage them (and teams like Georgia, Portugal etc), but the reality is that they won't.

The words practice and preach spring to mind! 🙄

Naw, think I'll go hang out with these English fan 'characters' instead.

Yeah, Kenny x2 I wouldn’t have cared if the entire Irish squad had been eaten by the Kraken on the eve of our game. You can only beat what is in front of you and Engerland have won all their games. Not sure they are as good as the commentators are currently suggesting mind!

Another good game England at least played with some self belief for long periods. Not likely to make the final though.  Weeks and weeks ago some podcaster (can't remember which) said the tournament would be book ended by matches between NZ and France. I did'nt believe him ,  looks like he'll be right though

He's known nothing about rugby since 2003. No idea why they keep rolling him out.

I think it's either age or early onset something. He's definitely not as erudite as he used to be 🤔

SCW is still living off 2003 rugby. He has very little of use to offer the analysis

Let's be honest, Gregor Townsend finding a mythical sea monster with a Scottish granny (Loch Ness monster?) before the next Six Nations is probably our best chance of glory.

And maybe a Sasquatch or two in the back row.

Determined and disciplined defence triumphed yet again.  Defence rather attack has been a feature of this tournament

He was highly regarded @ 2003. The bloke did well in his day. Hope I'm still relevant in 20yrs time. Doubt it somehow 🤔

Fiji had a confusing 20mins that lost them the game. Honestly I can england in the final by playing turgid rugby. Admittedly that was the best they have played Farrell can still do one with that pained expression.

Laws had good game as did smith despite being battered

Not at all. Despite not playing well they beat every team and got further than they were expected to. Doubt they’ll get through the semi but love to see it.

I reckon I’m pig headed but AA and TJ take it to another level.
Although I think I would enjoy their company in real life, sometimes on here it becomes hard work! I hope to meet them at a game one day, Ospreys v Glasgow maybe?

Truly breathtaking 1st half. Couldn’t call who is going to take it. Big call coming up on the yellow/red. I want to to be a yellow purely so the game continues like it has. Etzebeths knock back could have seen him off already if he had got that slightly wrong. Microscopic margins in this one

Good work, well done.

Irish fans must be seething!!

Scotland fans get to still kid themselves

I am a bit pissed off but tbh we exceeded expectations in the group and then blew it. The numbers on the Welsh jerseys for the Argentina game were a great metaphor for our play. Started bright and bold and ended crumbling to nothing!

That was weird. I'm not sure some of those number quite made kick off. 10 was obviously an issue, not fit biggar then Costello trying to win the game but not experienced enough yet.
We said 2 years ago that Scotland weren't get out the groups.
Ireland were just outplayed.
Not sure any of the home nations would be in this match. France and SA would/will be impossible to survive.

Well that was a tense finish to the England game.

I think England's biggest strength is in their kicker, sounds like 2003 again.

So the mighty four are:

NZ

RSA

Argentina?!?

England?!?!?!?!

I suppose you just play the team in the other changing room, but the draw didn’t favour anyone at all really did it?

The semis ought to have been NZ-All Ireland and RSA-France.

Not England’s fault, nor Argentina’s, but World Rugby what were you thinking?
