Wait til you find out about Maro Itoje and Talupe Faletau!

@molgrips

Well Itoje was born in Camden and Faletau in Tonga, so I'm not sure what your point is?

The poster didn't ask where anyone was born just talked about how they look.

What’s with the European Japanese player and the tongan looking Romanian?

I wonder if he is more bothered about Aki and Lowe than Hansen for Ireland...there's a word for those people who express views along these lines....

Those graphs like the one up there always seem to miss inform imo as players like Welsh speaking gogzilla George North was born in England and so gets lumped as an import when it's simply due to economics and free movement...

Point was that people travel and settle, and there are people in most countries who don't look like the majority. It's generally considered bad form to question their nationality.

The All Blacks even stole one of ours.  Findley Christie.  Pasty, ginger, shortarse.  Must be one of ours especially given his name ( he was actually Scotland qualified)

The issue is suggesting Maro Itoje doesn't look English. 1/5 of everyone in England and Wales would not fit your stereotype.

South Africa have gone with a 7-1 split on bench for game against Ireland, if plan A doesn't work then do plan A harder seems to be the strategy!

Wouldn't be surprised if a bench  forward pulls up injured in warm up and Pollard comes in.

It worked against NZ even when de toit was carded they were strong and fresh enough as a 7 to scrum effectively.

Italy v Uruguay has the potential to be a really good game methinks. Just home and about to watch, a much better time of the day for me. Anyone else watching?

Wow, I thought Uruguay had no chance after such a terrible penalty kick. But they've been great since then and now they're up against 13 😃

Any recommendations for a bar to watch the england vs chile game in central leeds on Saturday? Got tickets for the National straight after at the Arena so in striking range of there would be good

Woo hoo!!! C'mon Uruguay. Italy are seriously rattled. I expect they'll calm at halftime, but if the second half can be as good as this it'll be a classic

France seem to be having fun at the mo. So skilful, can't imagine England being able to do this, even with poor opposition.

Dupont could be out injured, fractured cheekbone.

Yeah bad news about Dupont.  The tournament is less without his talent and obviously a massive blow for the French.

It does highlight the tension of playing first line players in easy group games - benefit is increased game time and cohesion for the team, downside very real injury risk.

Wondering would I like Ireland to play NZ or France in Quarters now, certainly tips the scales a bit towards France? This is of course if we win one of our remaining group games, certainly not writing off Scotland!

I think that's understandable as an Ireland fan. But, Ireland have had Scotland's number for a good while now. I fear Scotland had more chance against SA. However, there is no certainty and it should be a great game.

SA are wily enough to be able to slow the game to keep their forwards able to function. The fact they have a 7:1 split tells you they expect a fast game from Ireland. Last 20 mins of each half will be glacial from the SA forwards with lots of "treatment" needed. The ref needs to be very firm. If treated it happens off the pitch, if they can't move off the pitch then it's stretcher and we don't expect them back.

Easy enough function if you only have to play half a game! Once PS DuToit gets sent off for a high late hit on Sexton the rest of them will only have to play 40 mins 🙂

decent showing from the Falcons against the Sharks last night with Radwan on fire before he took a big hit in the second half, and the new 18yo Ben Radshaw at fullback... He has England's senior FB in his sights for sure. He was sensational for his first senior start (I think), if only he could remember to offload just a little earlier as he approaches the line.

Might be a half decent year for the Falcons on that showing, not sure how many other Sale players are in France other than Tuilagi, Curry and Ford, but even if those three had been back they'd only have shored up a pretty weak looking offence.

50 minutes in and Portugal's tails are up.

Georgia lucky to not have a player yellow carded.

That was a great second half and a fantastic last 10 minutes.

I'd love to see Chile do the same against England 😜 (I know they won't)

They no doubt won't be able to keep this up, but they play well as a team and they've got about 4 classy players.

That’s a big statement right there!

SA missed a few penalties, but that’s still a great win. Proper physical encounter. Going to be some sore bodies tomorrow. Ireland tackled like demons.

Tight game well done IRL. Ref let a few things go but for the better of the game. No injured players is the real win for both sides

Commentary utter shite as per normal. It was not the game that set the world cup on fire.

Excellent game. Huge commitment from both sides.  Worthy of a final.

Saffrica definitely missing Handre Pollard and his place kicking in that game.

I thought it was a good reffing performance overall too. Missed a few things, let one or two 'use it's go on forever, but overall good - one of the best I've seen. Thank goodness it wasn't the likes of Carley, Dixon, Peyper and Brace (ignoring their nationally, just sheer crapness) ruining the game.
