We have a beach hut that currently has a glassfibre covering over a ply roof. It's now about 20-25 years old and is probably due for renewal.
Our options are ripping off the old covering and replacing with new glassfibre or using rubber which seems to have a longer lifespan (hut is block built so will outlive the roof).
Anybody used a sheet rubber roofing system - easy to fit?

EPDM did an 8x12 foot ground floor last year there are lots of vids on u tube and sellers websites. I put 120mm insulation onto ex felt roof then osb3 over thaT then EPDM it is an easy diy job if the weather is ok . make sure that the horizontal osb layer oversails any vertical details, or you might get standing water. 😳 . I will probalbly use it again when I do the garage roof. use local upvc trim supplier for fascias. 25 year 'guarantee'on the rubber. im not expecting that but who knows?

Ours is a simple job really. About 5m x 2.5m curved roof with no verticals. Seems like a good excuse for a weekend at the beach (not that I need much of an excuse!).

Doing my garage in few weeks.
Rubbaseal.co.UK, sell the stuff & gave loads of advice.
Neighbour had his done a few years ago. Looks tidy, but 3m x8m cost him £1700 😯

Mines costing about £500.

It's okay to fit if your roof is in a good state. New ply makes it a whole lot easier to do. Order it the right size with +20% for playing with and if your using contact adhesive a nice cool day not too hot. my out building was done 2 years ago and is good as new

It's probably good for another 20 years if it was done right. If you're bothered about the appearance, just rough it up with some 60 grit and top coat it, will probably cost under 100 quid. Have a look at glassplies in Southport

Ours is in a row of 7 huts all built at the same time and the glassfibre roofs of two of them have blown off leaving the ply base behind! If two of them have gone I reckon we might not be far behind.
Plus I suspect it's cracked and is leaking (or there's condensation on the wooden ceiling which I don't believe would happen). So it's time for some maintenance.

Probably got some delamination going on. Some stainless pan head screws ask around will solidify it and a new top coat will cure any leaks. 2 hrs work and you're done
