Just got an email from someone looking at something I was talking about selling on here a few weeks back. Thing is its from a ".ru" email address. Never seen that before so I Googled it, seems a lot of scam emails originate from Russian email addresses. So should I be wary?
Apologies if the person that emailed me is legit and reads this, just don't want to be scammed!!
A lot of scam email addresses are .com too, but that doesn't mean all of them are.
Could be genuine, could be a scammer. Only way to find out really is to enter into the discussion and see what they want ?
I've got some vetting software that basically allows me to run the emails before opening to check for scam and phishing emails, it looks for certain words or word combinations.
If you want to forward the email to me with *ahem* a small fee to cover my time and inconvenience I'll certainly check it out for you.
I get a few of them and as I know nobody in Russia I block the lot.
