I have a requirement to retrieve public RSS feeds and send them to a shared M365 mailbox. This is seemingly impossible in any sort of elegant manner.
Googling "RSS to email" returns lots of results which either a) assume that it's your own server or b) is specific to that particular feed.
RSS subscriptions are supported in Outlook, but that's a client-side feature and it's specific to my own mailbox. I could set up Rules to move them from my mailbox to the shared account, but as soon as I close Outlook then both the collection and the forwarding would break.
I could spin up a VM, run Outlook there and ask IT to create a dummy account purely for this purpose but... that's the point I'm thinking "surely there's a better way than that?" and they'll likely balk at that idea in any case.
I think I need some sort of public store-and-forward or If This Then That sort of solution, but I've drawn a blank so far. Anyone have any ideas?
I still have some like this in IFTT but these days you can do it in flow / power automate easily.
RSS? Isn't that part of the Information Superhighway?
Unless someone like Google offers it as a service I can see you having to script something and leave it running 24/7 on a server somewhere. Although email and scripts can be very painful esp with Outlook servers, I normally create gmail accounts, switch off authentication and use Curl to send email via them; but as you say that's quite messy.....

They were all the rage in the late 90s, didn't know anyone still used then......
Something like this?

You might have to create an ifttt account with the email address you want to be emailed

I remember when this was all Newsgroups...
I'm an idiot sometimes.
"I need something like IFTTT"
"have you looked at IFTTT?"
I'm moving house to 4, Fox Hake.
Hm.
Blogtrottr and Feedrabbit both claim to do what I need? Any experiences of either?

Yep, I sort of think that Reddit is just newsgroups with a nicer GUI and Twitter is RSS feeds with pictures...

That's a fantastic idea, but I don't think the mailbox is an actual account.
