So I posted some bike parts on eBay and now the guy says that they haven't turned up suprise suprise. I have a reference number and I've read that you can now get delivery confirmation on 1st and 2nd class small parcels, anyone know how id go about doing this?
I think you have to request tracking at point of posting, but what's on your receipt / proof of posting.....if it's tracked there'll be a reference number like GG123456789GB which you can then type in to their online tracking tool.
Just put the codes you have in the normal royal mail tracking site - you just get delivery confirmation or not, there's no signature on normal parcels.
If you've already posted out and didn't request a signed for service, be it 1st or 2nd class, I'm sure you can't retro apply track and trace. I think you even have to ask for proof of postage, which is just the postcode of the destination typed on the receipt.
As above, check your receipt
did you get proof of posting? you can then claim off Royal Mail for non-delivery, he would maybe have to authenticate they didn't arrive, so that *might* prompts him to think twice about pursuing the claim..
Is there a really long number on your proof of posting?
something like this
32-084 991 9004-03A D67 091
You should be able to check this using track and trace
even if you sent it 2nd class parcel etc there will be a tracking number on the receipt.
although...
its not always accurate. I have checked a few and they are still not shown as delivered, but the buyer has confirmed receipt and left feedback to confirm.
