saw the queen in the back of a range rover this morning going thru shepherds bush, (motorbike copper blew his whistle at me coz he thought i was gonna cycle thru the gap in traffic)

maybe she was rushing back to get the results of the paternity test?

on the plus side at least all of that unimportant current affairs bobbins will be pushed to the rear where it belongs on all those 'news' programmes and papers

Better that than to ruin the royal quim though, yes?

My best friend's missus was hospitalised with their first kid. Even watching TV ads with food in them would make her vomit. I think in total she had about 6 weeks in hospital during the pregnancy.

Grauniad:

It is understood that the duchess is not yet 12 weeks.

The baby will be the third in line to the throne, bumping Prince Harry, the baby's uncle, to fourth place.

It's times like this when the whole royal bloodline thing seems very bizarre to me.

Right now, there is a tiny bit of gunk growing inside a commoner's belly, yet when it is born, and for the rest of its life, it has been designated for "greatness" on the basis that the spunk used to make it came from some other dude who went through the same process about 31 years ago.

🙂

Acute morning sickness can cause dehydration, inability to keep any food down and is more common than you think, not pleasant at all.

Oh and you lot above behave yourselves please.

it has been designated for "greatness"

Wait a minute now. Does anyone actually genuinely think that royals are somehow inherently better?

Everyone on here seems to be queueing up to complain about that, but I've never heard anyone in the real world say that.

Positive statements about the monarchy I've heard:

1) She works hard
2) They're lovely people
3) It's traditional

I've not once heard anyone allude to the idea that they are 'greater' than anyone else. We treat them the same way as any other commonly respected celeb or their kids.

ANYONE of any kind of note gets column inches and the stuff they say talked about, simply because people have been talking about them previously. Sportspeople, page 3 girls, singers, offspring of rich people - I can't see a difference.

I think that these days* you need to find a different chip for your shoulder. Please note I am defintely not pro monarchy, but if you're going to be anti be so for sensible reasons not made up hype.

* ie since 1653

If [s]James Hewitt[/s] Prince [s]Harry[/s] William had done that, then he wouldn't be in this pickle.

We are all aware of this. It's no secret that they are rich.

However the question is, does anyone think they are intrinsically *better*? They are certainly intrinsically richer 🙂

Erm, we stick them in a palace and put them on a throne.

I didn't say better, I said designated for "greatness". I would suggest that entitling someone, before they are even born, to live in a palace and to sit on a throne as head of state is designating them for greatness.

We're sure the royal family will be impressed with all your messages.

We're going to close this thread now; perhaps you'd send further messages direct to Clarence House?
