..after latest family_oab meltdown over some issues of bandwidth, can you suggest me a router that can limit the bandwith per device at any given point.
Overall limit is not an issue - it seems that the various games / win10 laptops can suddenly download daft size updates. Our new ISP (Plusnet) seems to 'push' this through, where our old ISP (EE) would limit how much.
We have 39mb on fibre, with good line stability etc when I test, so I am fairly sure it is not the line and overall speed - it is the 'bursts' that stop some games siblings are playing in their tracks.
Not exactly the same setup as yours, but I have a [Sonicwall] hardware firewall on the inside of the fibre modem - this allows bandwidth management on each interface/port.
WiFi is dealt with by a Google WiFi mesh system [connected to the firewall) that allows bandwidth prioritization for a single device.
It might be better to look at the W10 settings to stop those unannounced downloads. I get similar issues with just the one device attached. When MS release a patch it affects game speed. I can't recall where you switch them. Off at the moment. I'll try to dig it out.
