The external door on a concrete 'shed' has a hardwood doorstep that has rotted. It is no longer connected to the bottom of the frame and wobbles a lot when you stand on it.
Is it possible to just buy the doorstep/threshold or do I need to get something made up? If so, should I fix it by simply sliding it into place and screwing down through it into the concrete base?
Yep, cut it at the base of the frame and also in the middle so you can wiggle it out.
Get some damp proof course from toolstation, comes in a roll double it up, and a door step from the local timber yard.
Treat the underside of step with preservative,or get in a profesional like me to do it for you.
We just did this and bought a step from a timber merchants.
Cost £17 for the step. Stuck a bit of unibond at the back and then screwed it into the brick. Already had the existing DPM which didn't need replacing.
Nice one, thanks guys
