I need some anchors for the straps in my roof box but my google skills are failing me.
The ones i want look like these,
however I just want some cheap steel ones. I cannot figure out exacty want they are called to find some.

I could, but they are for the middle of the box so would prefer not to go around the bars.
So for items inside the roof box?
Some of the standard bar mounts could be adapted - they've a plate behind so you could drill the box and have plate outside and loop inside?

Yes they are to go in the roof box to secure what Im carrying. there are some bolts already in there so a brakcet like the one i linked can be fitted without drilling, which would be my preference

Cranked angle anchor for similar to use with a strap.
Or search Petzl anchor plate for something that works with hooks, there is something similar and less spendy for load restraint, but cant think of the term right now.
In a roof box I’d tie absolutely nothing to anything which was attached just to the box itself as they have no structural strength. Why not get an m8 t-track bolt, slot it into the roof bars and pass it though the box, then use one of these on the inside of the box to both bolt it down and provide an anchor point?
I have a large Thule Alpine something-hundred roofbox. I moved to aerobars with t-track fitting. To make this as secure as possible I fabricated some large 2 or 3mm alloy spreader plates and rivetted and jbweleded them inside the box covering the hole zone. I then re-drilled the holes. The plates are maybe 100mm wide, 300mm long.
I reckon the t-track bolt to the box is a stronger interface than the t-track head in the track on the roof bar now.
Generally my roofbox is rammed full with skis and poles, then boots and helmets, then soft stuff. Once the lid is closed, nothing is moving in there.
I trust the 3 point locking mechanism. I notice all the Dutch and Belgians have an extra orange strap flapping about around the outside of the box. I award points for outstanding vibro-strap.
I only want the straps as i dont want stuff to move around in the box, Gravity and the roof bars are taking the majority of the load, the straps are so stuff does not shift too much.
I found what I am after, they are called stainless steel cable tie anchors, probably quite handy for bike packing as well 😊
