It's on offer at [url= http://www.screwfix.com/c/decorating/all-painting-decorating-deals/cat5380042 ]Screwfix[/url] at the moment, 2 x 9 litre buckets for £15.

I can vaguely remember hearing that the well known brands, like Ronseal and Cuprinol are not really all that good, but I can't remember what it was that is supposed to be better, either in quality or value for money.

It's for a wooden bungalow built from new tanalised planed T&G boards, so I don't suppose I need the preservative qualities so much, the tanalising should take care of that, it's more the colouring I want.

no, it won't take to tan timber very well at all. deffo give it a miss.

Its basicly emulsion, it flakes off and drys very quick on smooth timber, so be awatre of runs and drips.

oh and tip the tub upside down as it setles out and leave overnight then stir for a few minutes, make sure the lid is on tight though.

You don't actually need to paint fences. (but maybe you do for what you're painting, rapid edit after reading the whole of OP)
