Like a clown I bought ( from Germany) a Rolls vp29 preamp for my turntable/speakers but completely forgot about the fact that its originally made in the u.s so has a different currency . Now when it comes to this I haven't got a clue - can I just order one of these plug adapters from Amazon that seem to convert 240v AC to 12v DC or will I blow something up ?
12V DC input according to the manual, so 240V AC to 12V DC is fine. It'll be polarised, make sure polarity is correct, often there's an icon next to the socket which indicates if ring or tip is positive.
Thanks for that , I’ll have a read up ...like double Dutch to me if I’m honest
If it came with an EU plug you could just use a travel adapter.
It came with a uk adapter but it won’t change the power though so I don’t want it to go bang .
Maybe should have given a few more details - it'll be 240v Ac from the plug in the wall but needs to convert into 12v DC to go into the preamp .
It’s originally from America though ( which was my mistake to begin with)
If it's the same as this one then it will work fine here too with an adapter. The label says Input:100-240V 50/60Hz 0.3A, Output: DC 15V 0.3A
It looks like there are other variations though, so do check.

I’ve ordered one , just backs up what I thought I’d need so thanks for that involver 👍🏻
