Last one I was at was quads.
Never skated in them before, nearly tore my knees off till I realised they handle completely differently to ice skates/inlines.
I'm happier on blades but are quads better for throwing shapes

These are the latest foot wheelies. Be there or Be square.
I prefer inlines but have had to customise them to get them to work well for dancing.
I was at the skate Love festival in Barcelona in September and just about everyone was on quads. I only saw a handful of people on inlines.
If you do go with quads it can be helpful to have a raised heel boot and small, hard wheels for dancing. Although if you're just going round and round the rink it really doesn't matter so much and anything will do, so go with what you like.
