DPD delivery lottery.

Ordered some boots and paid for before 12 next day delivery. I've had the email. They said it's on its way. I've even chosen the option to leave on front porch of Im not in (which I will be, as I'm expecting a **** delivery).

I'm not used to DPD. I'm a total virgin. I'm used to Aus Post though so I'm familiar with anti-climatic expectation for deliveries!

Dunn dun duuuuuhn.....

DPD are by far the best delivery people.
If I see one of their vans I always let it out. They also get discount in my shop

In the UK there is DPD (red logo) and DPD Local (blue logo).

The former, as ZK says, gold standard. The latter, shower of shite.

DPD are excellent. I always use them when sending any artwork as theres far more chance it will arrive undamaged. Everyone knows the DPD delivery fella around here and he's a top bloke

Think of them as a sort of anti-Hermes (or whatever they're called this week), who just delivered a package for me that looked like it had been run over and only half the contents were smashed

Same here, we are on first name terms with our driver and in our street we’ve also learned others names via him, as he leaves a “I’ve left your parcel with Clive at no7 “ note.

DPD Red logo. Ordered some grade 1 Altberg Defender boots from GoArny for fotty quid just for general walking / hiking while we're in UK. Doubtful I'll need them once we're over in Europe as hopefully it'll have warned up / dried up a bit by then.

Disnt know there was a red / blue DPD! Aus Post don't even deliver on a Saturday!

I had a few struggle with DPD until I downloaded the app. That made life much easier!

Got my fingers crossed for you, OP!

Yeah, DPD Local used to be Interlink Express. Interlink Express was a company that back in the mid-90s Time Computers sacked off as their designated courier for being too shit. Being too shit for a professional bottom-feeder like Time is quite the achievement.

All g

Arrived 5pm last night.

Altberg Defender

2 pairs wet socks and wore them for a few km walk last night. Impressive. (considering I have a fractured big toe)

Wore them today for a walk around the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Nice place. Very happy with the boots too. Not overly heavy either considering they're "army" boots but I do tend to look after my kit (got a pair of Magnum CEN which I've had since I was 16 and going might fishing (I'm 46 now).

Highly recommended, not only the boots but the supllier GoArmy in Glasgow.

Hopefully I can pick up some Leder-gris locally and given em a once over as I'm not sure how long they've sat in a warehouse. Need some leather love.

Not quite right. I paid for Saturday / before 12 delivery as the options were mixed up. They refunded me a few quid and the boots were delivered next day, but at 5pm not before 12. I'm on holiday for 6 months so a few hours difference and a little refund did not make me unhappy. Hope this clarifies things for you.

… comparing postal delivery between virtually anywhere and Perth seems a bit unfair tbh 🤣

Fvkin oathe! 😉

International deliveries often hit the east coast then come by truck across to Perth, then aus post when they can be @rsed. This is why WA is called WA!

(I'm still getting over ordering double whisky here and not being told you HAVE to have a mixer in it - and only paying 4 quid or so. Madness. But our petrol is only $1.90 a litre so, swings n roundabouts eh)

Rare failure from DPD for me this week, ordered some stock on Friday for Delivery on Monday.

Attempted devliery on Saturday (we don't open WKs) okay, sorry for wasting drivers time, but I DID order a monday devliery.

Sucessful delivery on Sunday... with a blank photo for evidence... okay, that's a worry, office is all locked up, no one in. Had to wait about 8 hours for a call back from DPD, seemed they've sent the lot back the our supplier, great.

DPD numpty demolished my pillar and brick wall while leaving the driveway FORWARDS last year.

Had a bloke from round the corner (same number, adjacent street) pop round yesterday with my Royal Mail signed for delivery he had found in his recycling wheelie bin.
