I'm off to Edale YHA tomorrow for a couple of night away from the kids (woohooo). Does anyone know if the roads up there are open? From the look of the weather forecast there's been less snow than expected but I'm still a bit concerned that snow socks might not cut it
Unless it has snowed since sunday all the roads were open around hathersage, although the small road we took above chatsworth was interesting

In general - If you are going in from hope valley the valley road is always kept clear. The steep road from mam nic isn't always...
I've not been out there for a couple of weeks but you really shouldn't have any trouble getting to edale. You could always call them to ask if the long driveway from the valley road is clear. They will know for sure!
