Hi

I'm going to be in Valencia late this year (November) and wanted to plan a couple of days riding and am looking for somewhere rent a road bike.

Has anyone had any experience with this recently? I am struggling to find any options. I have found startbikevalencia, but am not convinced they still operate and the only other company I have found have a minimum rental period of 4 days with an 80 euro charge to deliver and collect the bike which put it at well over 100 euros a day which is a bit steep.

I'd be very grateful if anyone has any other suggestions.

Sadly I need to be in Valencia and am not able to take a bike with me or to divert my plans further south to Calpe where this would be easier!

Not much help, but there are loads of places renting Dutch style bikes for a pootle along the river bed. Can't for the life of me remember if there were road bikes available too. All I'd say is that if all else fails there are far worse ways to spend time renting one them and mooching around the city and to the beach. Bloody lovely place, reminded me I really need to return soon.

There's a bike rental place on paseig de peixina, valencia.  Just googled it and valencia bikes came up, as above Dutch style city bikes, my mate hires mountain bikes from them so maybe it's a neighbouring rental place as they aren't on the website.  I ve bought bike bits off mammoth bikes, maybe message them see if they can help.

We use the train from valencia to gandia, hop on and off and cycle back.  Best routes are between sueca and valencia.  Good beaches, albufera natural park with tarmac forest paths.

I ll be there in November if you want any more info just ask.

Thanks. That's really useful. I'll do a little more digging.

I guess worst case is some city bike pootling around a lovely city!

I have a contact out there, I'll ask who he recommends. It may take a couple of days to get back to you as I'm off to Galicia and Asturias until Sunday from tomorrow. Will 8 speed low spec do? (Our man also has access to some MTB's and possibly gravel).

These have been recommended with the people mentioned up the thread being out of business

The above place is in oliva, you d have to get the gandia train and bus down there from valencia.  I m pretty sure decathlon rent bikes, there's a few decathlons in valencia, one q central, just by the main bus station.

A friend posted a ride to Strava around the city earlier where I'm guessing he's holidaying. The map showed loads of bike shops. Perhaps use Strava to locate likely options? Though I assume it's just a Google map anyway.
