I'm just wondering if there's anywhere close to Inners for a apre ride dip, I'm going to be up in a couple of weeks and hoping this weather holds out so I'm looking for somewhere for the lad and me can take a dip without upsetting the local fishermen. TIA.

Hi, try not to use the Tweed 🙂

The Leithen water used to have a couple of spots. One at the salmon cauld near the Golf course, and further up the B709 Granites Road, there's another at the first cattle grid near the old quarry layby and entrance to the Leys, is Leys pools.

Hi, try not to use the Tweed 🙂

As a canoeist, I have tried to avoid a swim in it. 😉

Often folks in the water on the road up to the Golfie. Not really swimming, but plenty of splashing about.
There's some of us swim in Lindean Loch near Selkirk, that's OK.

We had a dip last year off the bridge to Cardrona. It was sweltering hot.

Use the Tweed, but not if there are any fishermen in sight. Any objection is just entitled nonsense.

We took a cooling dip under the bridge that accesses Yair forest. Plenty of riders and families were cooling off in the pool below the little weir where you park near he golf course

Peebles just north of the haylodge park rocks and pebbles and sand ad a deep channel it dumps you out onto a shallow riffle so you can't really go wrong.. further up there is a deep pool under the castle aswell.

It will be cold and raining in a couple of days so don't bother planning ahead with this crazy idea 😂

It's cold and raining up here (well, north of Perth, Aberfeldy) 18 and wettish tomorrow. It does look like it's going to be above 23/24 degrees for a few days early next week though.

OP, even if it's sweltering 35 degrees down south, it'll be about 10-15 degrees cooler North of the border. Although I swear a Scottish 24 degrees is far worse than the same down south.

Just as long as the opposite is true.

Very ambiguous. Can you clarify if you mean that a fishist objecting is entitled nonsense, or a swimmist objecting to the idea of not swimming when a fishist is in sight is entitled nonsense?

Swimmers have as much right as fishermen to use the river. However, I think Rule 1 applies in this case.

Just because you can swim where someone is fishing, it doesn't mean that you should. In the same way that we hope walkers and horses are not on trails on the Golfie.
