Rishi's lecturn in Dubai is made out of OSB. Rough as the bum of a badger.

They could have at least sanded the edges a bit.

Must be a symbolic thing.

Bit out of character for Dubai 😂

He looks all rugged, the sort of bloke who knows how to refill his own car.

Typhoon Jet’s £50,000,0000 a piece , £75,00,0000.00 for two!

That.... is remarkable.

Perhaps the No10 lectern budget was blown on the Liz Truss Garden-Jenga-and-Binbag ensemble

The King seems to have got main billing. The COP is being held in a Monarchy ruled petro state so that is obviously the natural order of things.
I expect Rishi is talking to a couple of dozen people in hall 37 or something where there is only an OSB box to stand on and one of those portable projectors that salesman bring with them.

Can't even get the most eco-friendly bit of board for his gesture.

Still looks naff. OSB is just not good stuff to work with.

(no offence if you made it)

No offence taken. Not everything has to be fine furniture.
Personally I really like the idea of using 'low-grade' materials to make things.

This was only something I knocked up for my allotment shed with the metal drawers taken from a skip and ground to bare steel.

Though in my defense, no, OSB isn't easy to work with particularly and you'll notice here that you do not see a single bare edge.

It's all made up as a hollow box surround with long, crisp mitres on every corner. No edges seen. Not so easy on OSB.

Unlike Rishi's lecturn up there 😊

I can just imagine the scene:

"The PM's here, he'll be giving a press conference in half an hour. Everything's ready, right?"

"Today??? You're joking, it was supposed to be tomorrow! We haven't even got a ******* lectern!"

"WTF are we going to do???"

For Team Q ?

I didn't build them, it wasnt my fault all those glass shelves collapsed and shattered, wiping out all those expensive Vitra models.

Not me guv, no siree.

I just did the kitchen and some of the shelving units for the offices, and some other bits and pieces. And I didn't wreck anything else*.

.

Besides, I thought those units were fibreboard 😕  Bloody horrible anyhow, and painted a nasty shade of brown.

* That was also someone elses fault too.

After reading this thread I am left with 2 thoughts:

- I never knew badgers' bums were especially rough. I wonder why.

- Kayak23 has an amazing shed.

(Bonus thought #3: I hope I got that apostrophe right...)
