I paid £93.35 (incl. P&P) for a used Korg Volca Keys. It got to the post office and I have a tracking number but it's now disappeared in the Royal Mail Maelstrom. It should've arrived last Thursday (18 Aug). I requested a refund on Monday but she's now stopped communicating. Ebay will step in on Friday.

Can I claim a refund through Mastercard or will ebay refund me direct?
How long do refunds take?

TiA for any experiences

its the sellers problem if it hasnt been delivered.
ebay should side with you, and pay out, unless the seller can prove its been delivered, then it gets complicated.

did the shipper send it off on time, i find some sellers dont do anything for a week.
does your tracking reference give a date of post office receipt, or tracking/movement,

I would give it a bit more time. I refunded someone a week after it should have arrived and then they received the item a few days later and told me 🙂

The item was posted on Monday 15th.

The tracking status ends at "Accepted at post office 14:24 15 Aug 2022."

As if it didn't leave the PO.

I bought a tyre on ebay which the seller marked as despatched 9 days later. I waited another 6 days but it didn't arrive. Raised it with ebay and they stepped in 2 days later, they had the money back in my account 3-4 days after that I think.

What method of posting was used? Regular first and second class rm state wait two weeks before they'll entertain a claim. It's the sender that needs to claim.

With rm only tracked 24 and 48 and special delivery will show tracking events through the network, signed for and regular parcels just show dropped off at PO and delivered events.

If the seller has gone AWOL though then raise a case with eBay. They'll see you right.

You have raised an item not received case so once it reaches the time required (sounds like Friday) the process will start to return your money. You can't raise a case for a while to give the item chance to arrive but if you have already been able to do so then now just sit back and wait.

If the item has been accepted at PO then it will probably arrive the day after you get your refund...

If it's not arrived by the eBay estimate, then log an issue through eBay. eBay will rase a case and if it still doesn't arrive after a week or two you'll be refunded.

Seller not doing herself any favours by ignoring you. Hopefully she is chasing the post office to try to find out what happened with the parcel. As above, it’s the sellers responsibility to make sure it gets to you, since it was tracked and there is a tracking number she should be able to kick RM into action and either it’ll get delivered or she can claim.

Meantime let eBay do their thing, and make sure all your comms go through them so they can see you are trying to resolve the situation sensibly (and that the seller is not as far as we can tell).

RM tracking is shite, I recently  sold an item on ebay posted on 8th August. The tacking has still not been updated from recieved at post office, I did msg buyer and they did receive it but they could've quite easily said not received, not entirely sure what the tracking is worth now.
