I promo’d all his LPs on Big Dada & my wife was his press agent during that time. Went to the mercury music awards with him it was a real highlight to see a UK Hip Hop artist up in stage with the likes of Amy Whinehouse etc He was a real honest soul.
FWIW there was thread on here recently about the best DJs etc at the start of that film is Shortee Blitz he is who I mentioned as being one of the best DJs I’ve ever heard, he’s a real real nice guy. If you ever get the chance to hear him pls do.
RIP Ty 🙁

So gutted about this. I was 18 when Upwards came out and a full on backpacker absolutely obsessed with hip hop (not a lot has changed to be honest). The album felt like a breath of fresh air in the uk scene Big Dada and Nina Tune could do little wrong in those days. Brixton will miss him thats for dam sure. Gutted I didn't get to see him perform with Kingdem. Rip ty! always upwards!
