Genuinely sad news. LFO's first album still massively stands the test of time as a unique piece of artwork from the bleep period. Many blissed out nights dancing to his ethereal yet driving music. Later stuff not bad either!

Mark posted on a music forum I used to frequent. I don't think many people knew who he was behind his username, he never it denied if asked but certainly never advertised it. No ego, just a humble guy.

He was really supportive and generous with his advice on my early musical efforts, which felt a bit like getting driving lessons from a Formula 1 great.

Just last weekend I decided it was time to 'test the car stereo' so drove off to a remote location to see how well it could handle bass. There's only one tune that's going to do that job. The result was Leeds Warehouse Mix 1, Car Stereo 0.

RIP Mark. Reach for the lasers.

Just heard LFO on 6 too.

Then they read my text out!

LFO surely has to go down as one of the best tunes from that time. Always brings back such good memories and make the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Sad news indeed, but what a legacy!

Saw him play at the Orbit a few times, what a show... 8)

Can't post vids but LFO 'Quijard' is quality like not other, as for LFO (the track), still gives me the chills to this day.

Kin amazing.

A real shame. I only have the 12" of LFO. Really makes the woofers vibrate on my stereo 😀

Sad news, love a bit of LFO.

Saw him play at the Orbit a few times, what a show...

I didn't see him there but what a club! Sven Vath kicked up a storm on more than one occasion. Convoys out to Ferry bridge then off to the woods for big speakers out the back of a Scirocco and dancing til dawn. Good times!

My mate SteveV had 4 12" speakers in his Sirocco parcel shelf . LFO made the whole car bounce and the bass had to be turned down in case the rear window shattered .
Thats what 1200watts of amps will do , till the whole install got nicked whn we in the cinema in Purley , including the monster cabling.

Well, every day is a school day.

I was not aware of Mark despite Homogenic being one of my regular and frequently played albums. That's cd's for you.

Never picked up Volta so that Declare Independence video was new. Superb!

Thanks DezB.
