I'd like to mention King Charles III of Spain, who is also dead.

I remember being at college and one of the guys in my class was in tears at the news. FFS.
Mind you he was a massive Queen fan.

I remember being at school and one kid cried upon hearing Freddie had fallen off his perch... He's now the headmaster of that school!

🙂

Surreal but made me chuckle nonetheless. And probably arguably accurate, too.

Do you do the 'RIP Freddie' thing annually on the anniversary of his death or is 23 years of special significance?

The irony..........just 6 days short of the end of Movember, and then he could have rid himself of that daft lip fluff.

OP, thanks for the reminder. 1991 !

The statue of him by Lake Geneva in Montreux wasn't what I was expecting to see during a stroll a few years ago, had not realised he lived there during the latter part of his life.

Freddie may be dead, but his songs, performances and ,his attitude are still deeply embedded in peoples heads, he was and still is an icon of pop music, challenging and different, and never bettered.

I grew up with all Queens albums. Every band has bad songs. Struggle to think of any they have done.
