Sad news. I met him twice and he was lovely. He wrote some of my favourite books and created glorious TV comedy.
I didn't get where I am today...
Brilliant!
The Pratt books are great easy reading.
Perrin was my favourite comedy as a child, farting chairs and silly catchphrases. The deal was, I had to go to bed early on a Wed night, to be allowed to stay up and watch it on a Thursday night (I think it started after the news at 9.25pm).
"I didn't get where I am today by saying 'I didn't get where I am today'"
My missus was part of the team that was involved with his care. He was in Harrogate hospital and she said it was one of the biggest clots they had ever seen that caused a massive stroke. Loved some of his work.

Ummm... Patient confidentiality
Don't think that applies a fair time after death.

avoided the fate that Perrin feared, that his gravestone would record: “He made 196,465,287,696 bulldog clips, and they were all exactly the same.”
Love Reggie Perrin.
