Shit! Way to young.
RIP
Bollocks.
Gonna be a Soundgarden/Audioslave day I think 🙁
Just going to leave this one here. Best song he ever wrote and perfect for the moment.
Well, shit.
That's gash.
**** . Never dawned on me why 6music replaying his interview
Absolute gutterball. Massive Soundgarden & Audioslave fan. Today's soundtrack will be awesome at least.
Bugger. By far The Best Bond theme.
Spoonman was just epic. RIP.
Shit.
That must have been sudden as he was Tweeting 8 hours ago.
+1 Best Bond theme ever.
Shit.
Was playing Soundgarden back catalogue on Spotify a few days back.
RIP Chris.
+1 Best Bond theme ever.
Nah, that's Live and Let Die, obviously. 😉
That's shit
Shit,
I sing my daughter to sleep some nights with "I am the Highway" always been a big fan of Soundgarden and Audioslave
RIP
One of the greatest rock voices of all time and the best song writer of his generation. Sad day.
Ffs
Gutted tbh
I think from the bands of my teens there's one Eddie vedder left
A key part of my childhood. Fond memories shredding bikes listening to Superunknown on cassette round a camp fire. RIP.
Genuinely sad to hear this. Always enjoyed his stuff whether solo or in his various bands. One of the greatest voices in rock.

Aye a pretty tortured generation
Cobain, Staley, Weiland, Wood, Cornell etc
Wood
The irony, the pain.
Without Wood's death we would not have had Temple of the Dog, without Temple we would not have had Pearl Jam.
RIP
Love his Bond Theme.
Aye a pretty tortured generationCobain, Staley, Weiland, Wood, Cornell etc
Saldy that's only the singers from the PNW scene of the late '80s early '90s
Then there's Pfaff, Starr, Saunders and many others ... 🙁
RIP Chris Cornell.
Wood
I was fortunate enough to see Shawn Smith at the NCEM in York a few years ago. He did a wonderful cover of 'Crown of Thorns' as a tribute to Andy Wood ... talk about lump in the throat!!
Great talent - another one lost too young.
Absolutely gutted
I'm genuinely upset by this. One of the greatest singers of all time in my eyes. Soundgarden were a phenomenally talented band too. Have good entire back catalogue on random. A genuine loss for rock music.
Really enjoyed his last album and song book highlighted his stunning voice and lyrics.
R. I. P. Chris Cornell
WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING?
All other media sources would indicate otherwise currently.
saddened by this
He's not denying his death on twitter - would have thought he would if it weren't true. I think the hoax site might be a hoax.
Edit - that article is dated yesterday, looks like he died overnight last night, shocking timing!
Check the date.HE'S NOT DEAD
Today?
Iz confuse. Is he dead or not? Tragic if so.
If it's true, I'm gutted. Two of my favorite bands and an amazing voice.
RIP, far to young 🙁
I'll be blasting out 'Jesus Christ Pose' later either way
🙁
****nuts. The hoax was a hoax.
He's not denying his death on twitter - would have thought he would if it weren't true.
He'll be still in bed, hopefully sleeping!
Comes up as 17th to me?Today?
And from the websites 'about us'
The Mediamass Project : Media criticism through satireinShare

Mediamass : When reality meets fiction
The name “Mediamass”
The project's name is an ironic reversal of portmanteau “mass-media” (media for the masses) in “media-mass” which here means “media en masse” as mass production and therefore mass consumption are the object of our criticism. The website “mediamass.net”
The website mediamass.net is the medium of our satire to expose with humour, exaggeration and ridicule the contemporary mass production and mass consumption that we observeAlso it will not only mock the producers (mainstream media, journalists) as it is common when questioning and criticizing mass media, but also the consumers as one cannot exist without the other. Sensationalism, lack of verification of information, ethics and standards issues are only symptoms of the actual social and economic order. This is particularly obvious when observing the role of social networking sites in spreading rumours.
Our ‘People’ section
Our website is very new (launched back at the end of October 2012) and still under construction. The ‘People’ section the only active one.The concept is to select the most typical, representative and recurrent articles across Gossip magazines and to make them available for all the celebrities in our database.
The ‘People’ section is a humorous parody of Gossip magazines, all stories are obviously not true.
Thus thousands of celebrities, Bill Gates in USA, Zhang Ziyi in China, Ranbir Kapoor in India, etc. all have a dog called “Spinee” recovering from successful surgery.
We won’t change the world, but at least we'll laugh trying.
Our project is still in its early stages. If you have any questions, comments or ideas or want to join the team please feel free to contact us.

Gotta love the ****ing internet
There are too many legitimate sources stating he has died.
Cracking voice, now forever silent.
So the fake death report is fake? Jeez. Gotta love etc.
Just listened to the acoustic version of call me a dog and it's getting dusty in here.
Like many others posting so far, this tragic news has hit a nerve. I grew up on Soundgarden/Pearl Jam and they dragged me away from the rock bands that I had previously idolised. Things won't be the same. R.I.P Chris.
So the fake death report is fake? Jeez. Gotta love etc.
That's where I'm at at the moment.
Satire of satire. Or something.
😕
Satire of satire. Or something.
Andy Warhol would be proud!
Truly gutted.
Gutted. Absolutely gutted. Was only listening to Temple of the Dog the other day.
So glad I managed to see Soundgarden live a few times.
i tend to have Chris Cornell playing at least once a day through one of his bands. This has actually upset me, probably more than any other.
Scott Weiland dying upset me but it was always going to happen, this is just unexpected.
F****. Genuinely gutted, grew up with badmotorfinger in my ears daily and continued throughout my life. Of all the recent tragic losses this hits hard for me. RIP
Much loud music forecast at Chez Pondo ce soir. 🙁
I'll miss his brilliant covers. Not many artists who have struck such a chord with me. Eddie Vedder and Mark Lanegan are now the only ones left from my favourite bands from the era
I'd never heard of him but read something in the Guardian this morning where he said him and his mates used to go mountain biking with a 40 once something or other which I took to mean a big bottle of beer in his bottle cage. He realised he had a problem when he stopped doing the biking and just had the bottle (and the rest).
A real shame and a shock - Soundgarden were brilliant and I really liked Audioslave too. He had a cracking voice and was hugely talented.
Sad day. RIP fella.
Gonna miss your music.
Well that's just pants.

same here, I was predominately listening to Maiden, Metallica, Anthrax......Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, all the Seattle music just made more sense than the overblown rock that was kicking about then and all the pyrotechnics. Really noticed when listening to the first album this morning the Led Zeppelin influences.
He will be missed
So sad....brilliant voice, far too young to go 🙁
The mediamass fake thing posted on page one has been updated, so looks like it's true.
As I posted earlier, it's a database, stick any celebrity name in there and any story and it generates a page. It's intended to take the piss out of all those gossip sites that do publish that sort of crap.

Sad day 🙁
makes me feel old & vulnerable just to worsen it that bit more

Not sure why it was posted in the first place.
Just heard on the radio, police are looking into it as possible suicide. )-:
Oh man ! Grew up listening to all the Seattle bands, but Soundgarden were one of my favourites. Superunknown has to be in my top 5 albums.
R.I.P Chris 🙁
Currently getting played LOUD
RIP 🙁
Superunknown one of my favorite albums, only listened to it yesterday in the car. And love Audioslave - Cochise
Moved enough to post twice. His voice was one of those that just got 'me'. The kind of voice that doesn't come along often.
I'm with you Jam. I rarely give a shit about celebrity deaths. But this one is personal, their music, his music helped me through a lot of shit. Dude helped me in ways I'd struggle to express, and I doubt I'm alone in that.
I'm with both of you. Rarely bat an eyelid, but his lyrics and the bands music helped me through some bad times in my teens and twenties. His last album had a few tracks that really resonate too. A talented man and I for one lament the fact I won't get to see him play again.
As a windsurfer I will always remember watching Robby Naish RIP video with the great Soundgarden track 'My Wave'.
Cracking tune and a sad loss.
I was listening to Keaveny while driving up the M5 this morning, and I heard him say something about shocking news that would be on the news coming up, I had only had the radio on for a short while, and I thought, for Chris'sakes, what now!
Then they gave out the news about Chris! Just stunned, what a loss to music, he had an incredible voice, and could interpret other people's songs in a unique way.
Only ever saw Soundgarden twice, and never saw Audioslave, sadly, but he was a phenomenal frontman.
He'll be missed terribly, but he's left a musical legacy that will inspire many new singers in the future.
My thoughts are with his family and their loss.
So gutted about this. Looks like he hanged himself - must have been some serious conflict going on inside. A troubled genius.
Very sad. I went to the Shawn Smith gig at the sunflower in Brum Tuesday night. Gonna be a sombre one tonight in Putney.
What a waste of one of the finest voices in Rock.
Say Hello to Heaven.
Gutted to see it was suicide, watching youtube clips from the final Soundgarden show the same night he died and he is on blinding form as ever, genuinely has upset me this one. Thoughts with his wife and children, the world is a poorer place now
I have no words. Really quite upset. My heart goes out to his family. Aways seemed like such a genuinely nice guy.
Couple of interesting vids on Chris, particularly the first form Pete Thorn. gets a bit dusty...............
Is this going to be another Robin Williams situation? I'm kinda struggling with it at the moment. I can't imagine what his family and friends are feeling right now.
Anyway, here's a song:
Spent a while dancing round the living room playing air guitar to soundgarden played quite loud last night, for the first time in a couple of decades. The wife was slightly bemused I think, but my daughter got it and had a little swing-of-hair with me.
Then I found that cover of Nothing Compares 2 U that the funkmaster dropped back on page 1, had a sit down to that one.
Gone too soon.
Gutted to see it was suicide... ...genuinely has upset me this one. Thoughts with his wife and children, the world is a poorer place now
This.
🙁
Makes you think about what matters really doesn't it?
Men, me included, are good at hiding how they feel and he seemed such a lovely, funny, genuine man with immense talent, but he hid some clearly dark thoughts. His lyrics are quite revealing at times now we hear them again.
In my opinion, Chris Cornell stands up as one of the best vocalists, in any genre. I love his music, even that awful Crossover album with Timberland reeks of class with his vocals.
Loved his music, feel really sad and sorry that he got to that stage.
Hope his family get lots of love and support.
RIP.
😥
Really sad.
Spotify has a damn good playlist dedicated to him. Go check it out.
'Say hello to heaven' has a bittersweet irony now.
