From Ring Ouzel virgins, to seeing a gathering of sixteen of them, that was the wife and I yesterday ! Very pleased.
Venue, Cleeve Hill, Cheltenham.
Childhood flashback incoming!!!!
My dad was a bit of a twitcher BITD and I well renember the excitement the first ring ouzel sighting generated.
It was nothing compared to the first golden plover, though - what a day that was! 😀
Sixteen? Blimey that's grand.
Once had a watch of 45+ goldfinches in our sycamore. The song was amazing.
I wonder what a flock of Ring Ouzels are called.
16 is good going. There’s a few been seen on the North York moors up by Kilburn, & they always come up into Swaledale. Haven’t seen any myself yet.

How charming!
I’d say that 16 birds is a once in a lifetime experience! Regularly see them at this time up on the North Norfolk coast, usually NWT at Holme next the Sea but never seen anywhere near that number.
How charming!
Chapeau!
To be honest, we just saw that the birds were showing on Cleeve Hill (and in good numbers) on a local birding website, turned up, and saw them !
We do quite a few trips when we fail to see the reported birds at various venues.
Nice to be in the right place at the right time for once.
