Have any of you got experience of Ring c
Outdoor cameras? Are they any good?
The Spotlight Battery Cam looks to fit my requirements - any feedback?
I was also wondering if there was a way to use the built in motion detection to control a smart socket or would I need a separate detector for that?
Bump if it needs it
Don't you need a subscription to save images on the Ring one?
I got a 30 quid cam from amazon that uses a CamHi app to notify me and records onto a memory card for free, can check it any time on my phone or pc, night vision is impressive too
I've got a Ring doorbell and indoor camera. Yes, you need a subscription but it's very cheap and provides cloud storage too.
The app is easy to use and can customise the notifications and detection zones. Not used the outdoor camera with spotlight though.
I have ring door bell and ring floodlight cam. £5 a month for the 2
I also have a blink camera which was bundled with an Alexa. The blink you can’t use as a motion detector without going through IFTT. Then it takes 20mins approx to work it’s way through.
I have a smart plug in my bedroom powering my bedside lamp. I have it set to come on in the night if any motion sensed around my shed where the bikes are. Works well and is instant as goes through Alexa app routines.
I’ve caught one guy going through my bins and a cat sat on my shed roof.
My blink is instantaneous (dunno what IFTT is!) But in the dark it's pretty shite.

They do a few other models now, but mi es still going after 3 years
