I’m riding from Dorking to Stroud tomorrow and based the route on the Chase the sun GPX. I’m fine getting from Dorking to the route but the Marlborough to Stroud route was proposed by Komoot.

Can anyone with road knowledge make any suggestions for that section?

Komoot link

I’m a bit nervous frankly so I’d be hugely grateful.

Thanks .

I can't see anything wrong or that would worry me about your Marlborough/Stroud section. Although your route does end in a valley with steep sides and not much about....

I've done the roads between Marlborough and Kendleish. They are fine. Some hills over the downs though.

That's a good route. I usually go through Clyffe Peppard (turn left at Broad Hinton) rather than go past the edge of Wooton Basset so that's the only few miles I don't know. C. Peppard way has a great descent.
There were some fairly deeply flooded roads around Oaksey + Sommerford Keynes area (98 miles in on your route) a couple of weeks back and I'm not sure if it's all subsided fully yet. Should have though.

The Marlborough to Stroud bit of that looks ok to me, mostly quiet B roads.

The road out of Marlborough up to Hackpen Hill (3 on your route) is a nice road with lovely scenery but people can speed along there, so keep steady.

Reasonably flat around the lakes at the Keynes too.

Have a great day!

Yep, it's the middle of no where. Going to a university friend's house for a gathering.

Thanks for all the comments. Looks like it's a goer. I will be fitting every light I can find in the house!

I know that all well, that's a lovely route.

C. Peppard way has a great descent.

Not so much fun the other way... 🙂 To be fair, the descent through Broad Hinton is pretty cool too, nice and quick with good site lines.
