Hi

Has anyone for some information on riding the GR5 trail from Geneva/Morzine to Nice. Generally the feedback from those that have done it is that it's tough but great.

Looking for ideas and also where the riding has to deviate from the GR5 route, or recommending to skip a bit. I'm likely to get a Morzine bus from geneva to skip a bit of it.
Bikepacking.com covers part of the route further north and the restrap/recentish video is great but not heavy on detail!

Any clues or signposting appreciated - TIA

Not much help but maybe something... all my mates who have done it from Morzine to Cham said they wouldn't do it again and there was more walking than they wanted (all very very good riders). If I also remember correctly they said it'd be better from Cham to Morzine in direction.

You also could go very easily from GVA airport to GVA central station and then catch a train to Thonon les Bains and then pedal up via Habere poche or somewhere in that valley.. its a lot more rolling and could be a good chilled half day to get your legs warmed up before going into the GR5... and the train to thonon will be a few quid vs 70+ for a transfer if that matters.

If you do; go for a dip in Sciez or somewhere in the lake first as its red hot at the moment.

Good luck!
