Just picked up a 'new' TV. They had a few in my local big Heart Foundation charity shop so I chose a fairly modern one. It didn't have a remote, no problem, thinks me. Easy enough to get a universal one for a few quid. Turns out it uses RF rather than IR. Didn't even know that was a thing. It seems RF universal remotes are quite rare. I've found a couple on eBay in the States. Not too keen on that. Also wary that if they are so rare do they even work. Apparently the proper remote needs to be paired with the TV. Any experience of them, or any alternatives? Thought ther might be a phone app solution but it seems the TV needs to be connected to the WiFi for that and it will only connect with the password typed on the remote 🙂 It's an Aquos TV.
Snooker cue?
Can logitech harmony control it? Has bluetooth to a few things I own..
Snooker cue?
It has one button, it's on the back, and it doesn't turn it off
Can logitech harmony control it?
Maybe, but that's more than I spent on the tv
It'll probably by easier just to take it back and get a different one. The lack of remote is probably why it ended up at BHF in the first place.
Hooked up via HDMI to other devices? Might be able to control it over HDMI-CRC with a Sky remote or similar.

What sort of tv? I can control my Samsung via a mobile phone app.
My tv was pretty cheap too so I don’t imagine it’s a fancy tv only thing.
There's quite a lot secondhand Aquos remotes on eBay at a cursory glance, and ones that claim to be compatible on Amazon.
