Can you recommend anywhere?

I've a Dreamcast with a flickering video output and our excellent local games shop has closed down.

Thanks in advance!

Unless it's a known problem with a 5 minute fix, it will surely be cheaper and quicker to pick up a new console from the next boot fair?

Good point.

I'd rather eat worms than go to a car boot sale though.
🙂

And this one has a case that's still white, not yellow, so if it is a quick fix I'd like to get it done.

I'll have a look on Gumtree, should have thought of that.

google the problem to see if you can fix it yourself, but they start from £35 quid on ebay.. a descent repair shop will cost you at least £50 just to look at it

Ta folks.

I seem to remember getting the case off involves using a paint scraper.
I'll have a Google.

I'm a member of a ZX Spectrum Facebook group which has a ridiculous amount of tech knowledge (one member has reverse engineered the thing and built his own from scratch, all bar one chip). I'd expect that there's a similar one for the DC, and wouldn't be surprised if someone on the Speccy group knew about it. I can ask if you like.

And I thought you were middle class? 😛

All this time there was a tool out there!

I must own a set. Now.

Thanks everyone.

Cougar, I'll do some research tomorrow and get back to you if I decide to try and fix it myself.
Ta for the offer.

'What you want there is a spudger'.
But I don't know anyone who spudges.

Al - middle class?!?
How very dare you.
Like ignorance and herpes I transcend class and social boundaries.
We did get some Le Creuset as a wedding present though. 🙂
