My wife decided that her phone needed a wash in the toilet. Unfortunately it has now decided to stop working.

Is there any way of retrieving the photo's etc that were on there as she can't find them, backed up, on the cloud..

I'm not an Apple man so don't know why it's not there. She's not sure whether or not she backed it up (had back up turned on?)

If you sign into her account on another device any backed up photos etc will appear.

if not backed up, however, er . .

Any backups on a Mac/PC with iTunes that the phone was plugged into?

And do give it a couple of hours on wifi - I have had a couple of Android phones that just looked blank for a while, then suddenly populated, almost as if there was a queue for a server.

Options are, it was set to backup via wifi to a laptop with itunes when plugged in and charging.  Manually backed up by plugging in to itunes.  Backup to the icloud (not usually with photos as they use more storage than the default amount, though the previous 1000 are usually saved in my photo stream).

Next option is recovery/repair.  Happy to pull it apart and clean it for you if youd like.  Success rate is probably 60%

How much would you charge wysiwyg?

A mate has the tools to get it apart so might have a look and see what it's like inside..

I would give it longer to dry out.  A mates iphone 4 got dropped on a ski slope one March.  Was picked up by the schoolkids clean up in mid summer, collected from then the following year and was working fine.  More recently Katie's got a proper soaking when her coat leaked.  drying out takes longer than you think

Cloud back ups do need accounts set up and to be switched on.

6s is fairly well sealed so that moisture gets trapped in there.

Price depends on if it needs a battery, but ill strip it and clean it for a tenner +pnp

Great. I'll give it a bit longer in the silica to see if that works but may well get in touch, thanks 🙂
