We’re hosting some foreign visitors (who are vegetarian) in a couple of weeks and probably gonna go to / around Chatsworth for the day. Anyone got any recommendations for nice pubs or restaurants around there or Eyam / Hucklow / Calver / Hathersage area with good veggie options?
One of the Indian Restaurants would be my shout. There're 2 decent ones in Hathersage.
Memory says the Blind Bull in Little Hucklow does a reasonable vegetarian menu (we’re both omnivores and the dead animal based stuff there is excellent).
No menu on the website but it does say 'vegetarian friendly' and I've heard nothing but praise for https://www.stellas-kitchen.co.uk/ (between Eyam and Foolow)
For lunch I've never been disappointed with the salads / toasties / soup at Caudwell's Mill (Rowsley)
Cauldwell Mill at Rowsley used to be exclusively veggie, and very good when I last went.
The Royal Oak at Hurdlow does great food, no reason to think the veggie options wouldn’t be just as good.
Maynard at Grindleford normally has some excellent vegetarian menu options on. Their head chef is also coeliac so they do very well on the GF front too.
Blind Bull also highly recommended.
Cauldwells has shut sadly.
Stella's is ace. You definitely need to book though.
Most places seem to have a good veggie option or two now.
Random and quirky but the cafe at Scarthin Books in Cromford does great veggie food as a lunch option. And quite impressive indistrial and social history all around you.
