[Closed] Reputable garage in York?

Just taken my i40 to the hyundai garage on the ring road with no issues, dropped off at 8 picked up at 12, paid £54.

Stoneacre tried it all on with the sales pitch, told them i'd get another quote and they seemed to admit they were trying to add unnecessary work.

Halfords Autocentre was great but i used to work for them so kind of bias and they knew it was a staff car.

The mother always takes her's to Brookshaw motors on clifton moor, has done for as long as i can remember but i think he outsources it somewhere else. She's never had any issues there.

What make car? I have a Mercedes and use Richard Hollings a Mercedes specialist.

Another yes for Halfords Autocentre for MOT's, I take our cars to the Layerthorpe branch and never had any problems or failures!

There is an independant MOT center on Hospital Fields Road. They don't do any work on your car, just test.
Can recommend Simon March at Elvington or Simon's Auto Services in Wheldrake. Used both. Good work done and reasonably priced.

Used to use one on Birch Park in Huntington near the post office. Is another MOT only, no work place that was always reasonably priced.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll get on booking it in this afternoon, probably at the Layerthorpe Halfords as it's literally just around the corner. No need for a specialist, it's only a £500 shed of a Citroen.

I'd suggest Fabers, just off Layerthorpe/St James St. Its been running years, they do MOTs and whatever else you need, and having used them for 3 years since I lived here have never been anything less than satisfied with work, price, and punctuality.

I'd strongly recommend Dunnington Motor Care (in Dunnington obviously).
I take both my cars there and have never had any reason to doubt anything they've done or said.
Great personal service too.
