We have a very large 6-man tent (approx 6m x 6m) and it's started to leak pretty badly (yes it's rained a bit in the last few days, but I wasn't expecting quite the accumulation of water that it's just let in). It's way too big for me to reach the top of it when erected so I don't even see how I could get the coverage that I need, and for the size of it, I'd imagine the cost of the proofer will be pretty steep (5ltr of Nikwax Solarproof is about £75).
Is it worth even trying, or do I wait to the end of the season and watch out for a cheap deal for a new tent on Ebay? Or splash out and get an airbeam with blackout sleeping pods?
Stepladder and a pressure sprayer with a longer lance. Or lay it out on the ground and tackle in sections.
Some good deals on tents now and plenty secondhand as the one-time campers get rid.

Yeah, since writing the OP, I've had a proper look and seen that thank you.
Fabsil is good and I'd be surprised if you needed to use anywhere near a full 5L of it unless you're proofing a MASH tent

Yeah, reading the reviews and people are saying they've reproofed two big tents and had left over so I was thinking about just getting a 2.5l tin. Still need to figure how I'll do it though - the tent is massive and the centre dome is not easy to get to.

I recently got a cheap garden sprayer where there was just a rigid pvc tube between trigger and nozzle, and I think I've seen similar size rigid plastic tube in b&q in their metal/plastic strip, bars and angles racks. Bit of pvc tape to make up slight size difference maybe. Gives you a 2m spray lance.

Just over half a 5 litre can of fabsil with a gloss roller & tray done in 2 halves on the ground. Its an 8 man tent. Since survived a sudden deluge in the limoges with none of the previous drips.

Don't erect it but lie it flat, folded in half and do a half then turn over once dried and do other half - like @40mpg.
