Our garage roof is leaking and needs replacing. It's flat type with a bitumen felt type covering - much like a shed but heavier duty.
Is this something that can be done easily DIY?
I replaced my garage/ shed roof with box profile steel. The supplier cut the sheets to size for me.
Fitting them was easy. Me and a few mates stripped and replaced 64m2 over a couple of weekends.
Rubber, EPDM, is very DIYable. Roll it out to get the alignment correct, roll half back, brush on the adhesive, roll back brushing to prevent bubbles, repeat for the other half. Finish round the edges with plastic trim pieces. A garage size piece will be heavy, but lap joins are easy enough. Was about £8 per square meter last time I looked.
Biggest concern is is the underlying deck water damaged? Can you see the underside?
Chipboard is particular falls apart if it gets wet.
Also, 2 or 3 good EPDM vendors on eBay, they often have "kits" of all the bits for various roof sizes.
i used this on mine
worked a treat.
