Replacing a win10 laptop

I'm currently using a lenovo ideapad 110-151br. It needs replacing as its running win10 has a broken hinge and a knackered battery.

I only use it 3-4 hours a week for word/excel and use m365 for storage so obviously I'm no power user!

Portability isn't an issue so I'd like to stick with the 15.6" screen.

I'm quite happy to buy a reconditioned laptop and I realise pretty much anything will do but i want it to last a few years.

I was looking at this https://www.stonerefurb.co.uk/dell-latitude-5590-i5-8250u-1-60ghz-8gb-ram-240gb-ssd-1

I was going to add the 8GB extra ram for £12.50 for a bit of future proofing or is that overkill?

That's a very old laptop in grade c condition. While it will be adequate for your needs I reckon you could do a lot better. Have a look on HotUKDeals for a few options.

Eg https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/lenovo-thinkpad-l14-gen-1-14-intel-core-i5-10310u-16gb-ram-256gb-refurbished-pristine-4629733

Much newer, better processor, pristine condition.

Thanks, that is a much better spec. I think the 15.6" screen is too much of a limiting factor. I might have to compromise.

I had been looking on hukd for a while but most deals seemed to be from the same seller (not the seller in your link)  and reviews were a bit iffy.
