...just had a new back door fitted in our extension and it uses these Yale DWS Platinum keys. Looked at Yale website for some spares and they want £45 for 3! 😳
They seem to be available from other sellers online - can anyone recommend one they have used?
They look rather complex so don't want to end up with a load that don't work.
Ta!
Are those the ones with the yellow card with three codes on it for ordering new keys?
If so I used www.replacementkeys.co.uk about 2 years ago. Can't remember the exact cost but way less than Yale. All delivered fine with no issues.
FWIW I had six Yale keys cut in B&Q yesterday for £28 in the key cutting machine. Not fancy pants keys though.
The three code keys are the old ones (Yale superior?). I think he’s on about the new Orion locks. £45 seems about right, is that from lockandkey?
What really annoys me is we have 7 of the old superior locks, all keyed alike with thumb turns on the insides. We’ve needed to buy a new back door and wanted to use the same system, but the old eurocylinders are no longer in production, so if we want to keep everything alike it’s a change all the locks job.
Couldn’t you transfer the lock from the old back door to the new one?
We bought a new front door with a 'free upgrade' to a better Ultion lock with two keys. Great.
The replacement keys are £15 each. And we needed 4 more from first day and since have lost a couple...
Crazy thing is that you could put the window though next to the lock and get in anyway...
Security keys are expensive. £15 a pop does seem high though, my keyed-alike Avocet ABS keys are like eight quid.
I'm a big fan of Barnsley Lock & Safe but they don't seem to carry your Yale keys.
Yale Patented Platinum Key £5.95 from www.replacementkeys.co.uk
Used them a couple of times.
And get them sent to a different address!
