i managed to crack the screen on my nexus 7 on Friday and whilst looking for answers on how to get it fixed I've not had much success
The LCD seems to be working fine but the digitiser (touchy pokey bit) is only working on half of it.
Has anyone had their screen replaced in the past and/or can recommend where i could get it done?
I'm quite cack handed with fiddly things so don't really want to do it myself
This happened to me, although my digitiser didn't work at all.
After similar internet research I bought a whole new nexus.
I looked into this too - seems to be a bloody expensive fix, as you need the digitiser and the screen combo - about £120 if I remember correctly.
Where's the crack? Unless you hit it with a brick, could be related to the infamous 'screen lift' issue - that's what caused my son's to crack, he wasn't even using it at the time.
it's obviously hit something like a tv remote on my sofa and has a nice dented screen with the cracks pretty much splitting the screen in half. I can only get the thing to recognize touch inputs on one half.
At least it allowed me to get my data off
