You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
sadly my trusty Rab generator smock died at the weekend with a barbwire tear to big to repair (Im guessing the pertex was getting a bit ripe). It was one of my most used bits of kit - very wind proof pertex, a Primaloft insulation so warm when wet still, nice long zip to dump heat, kangaroo pouch pockets ideal for keeping hands warm / stuffing map in and packed down to bob all.
They don’t make them any more so looking for a suitable replacement to fulfill the above criteria and use as a mid layer on cold days, top layer on cool days and emergency warm layer in the riding pack. Not found much so far, looking at the montane prism jacket (not a smock I know) as looks like a similar level of wind proof / heat management / insulation. Any other ideas or views on the prism?
Thanks
OMM Rotor Smock?
Alpkit Heiko?
Prism is a nice jacket and should fit the bill. I have one and it's my most used jacket by far, very versatile. Also have a Rab generator gillet and the pertex on the Prism is a bit heavier duty version.
Patagonia Nano Puff pullover? My Generator also died recently and I've ended up with a Micro Puff as I had a warranty voucher to use with Patagonia. It's a bit more $$$ but it's noticeably warmer than the generator smock.
