I’m having my steel frame resprayed after about five years of good use as the lacquer coat was flaking and it was looking generally a bit shabby.

The problem is though that I can’t get a replacement decal for the frame. I’ve tried the manufacturer and they said they’d see what they’ve got but weren’t sure if they had any in stock and would get back to me. That was a month ago and have sent a couple of polite “any news on the decals?” requests but without reply.

So, are there companies that can print up a replica decal at reasonable cost that people have used before? Or am I destined to a stealth plain bike from now on?

Have you checked ebay for replicas? Loads on there and I've had some great quality decals off ebay sellers. Check their feedback if worried!

Thanks I’ll take a look. Suspect it’ll have to be a custom job as not one of the usual big brands unfortunately. Would still probably look better than nothing though.

As far as I know Invisiframe will do them if you can supply a file with the image.

H Lloyd do loads - I recently ordered "Ribble" and 653 decals from them for my Ribble refurb. I've gone with vinyl on top of the lacquer as I can replace them if they get tatty.

I've also got decals from ebay for my old Diamond Back MTB and they have stood up to loads of abuse.

My son's recently bought a vinyl printer, so I'm sorted if I need any now - he's been 'stickering' up his car (groan).

Cheers for the suggestions @scotroutes and @hooli I’ll take a look at them too. If I can find a decent resolution image that might be a good way to go.

Thanks @fossy, didn’t know about H Lloyd. Looking on their site they’ve loads of proper vintage brands but unfortunately none of the ones I’m after. I could always badge it up as something else I guess (always wanted a Chas Roberts when I was young).

Retrodecals ~ focus on Pre-2000 MTB frames and components but anything is possible assuming you have clear photos and overall sizes

Retrodecals are ace. Sorted me some out of print Omega decals from a dodgy old photo. Really good service from them
