Burnt a a hole about the size of two pin heads in a new event bivvy bag. I am a proponent of tumble drying event to renew the DWR on it and so am suspicious of patches that are self adhesive.

Cany anyone suggest a more permanent fix? Will seam grip bridge the hole?

I've used stick-on goretex patches on Event fabric before and it was permanent- no problems with tumble drying. That was a waterproof jacket with a 2.5 or 3 layer Event though, not sure if it'll be identical.

You can buy the stuff they seal the seams with.

It's hot melt, but it's the same as your jacket is already sealed with - at least, the stuff I have is, I can't tell from the picture if that link is the same. I've used it loads, it's brilliant - and it needs a lot of iron heat to get it melted so a tumble drier isn't going to melt it.

Also, don't tumble dry your jacket - air dry then iron it. I think tumble drying wears off a lot of the Nikwax straight away. And I think the instructions on my eVent jacket do say not to tumble dry.
