Been looking for a new place for a while, renting as a short-medium term thing til I sort some other stuff out. Looking for 2 bedrooms (for extra space mostly), and... just... can't... find... anything. Galashiels, sure. Penicuik, Biggar, no bother. But I've seen literally one place I liked in the peebles/innerleithen/walkerburn area in months of searching, looks like there's just not much out there?

Probably going to end up in Penicuik as a good balance of location but maybe someone on here will have useful suggestions- whether there's good letting places that I'm just missing, something borders specific maybe? Most things seem to be on FB classifieds these days and I'm using the obvious national places but I can't help wondering if I'm just not looking in the right places. Very out of practice at this...

Hi Northwind - all the cool people live in the Tweed Valley so, good move! A lot of places are used for holiday lets these days of course, and BASE students at Gala are all heading here at the moment.

Haystoun is the big agent for renting in Peebles https://haystounfinancial.co.uk/about-haystoun-financial-and-property-services/

Luckman property - I have a card somewhere - you could try them?

And lastly the place downstairs from me is coming up soon, PM me, although it is only one bedroom and a bit dark but has great bike storage and fantastic neighbours!

I don't even know where Dundonald is.

I'm from Tawa, actually. The older Kiwis on this site will know why that is funny...

Possibly not what you're after but might do as a stop-gap, easier to look if you are in the area. I'm in Stow and after a housemate?

Cheers folks, especially Hels- Haystoun looks a great recommendation, especially since they don't seem to list their properties on all the other pages.

Luckily I'm not in a rush but thanks for the other offers folks- basically I'm staying in what was my parents' house while we clear that out, then I'll be renting for a bit (and storing a ton of crap, hence wanting the extra space) til we sell it, so I can take my time a bit.

It looks ideal as a place to go somewhere else from 🙂

I'm in Roslin, was in Auchendinny, so in terms of proximity to stuff similar to Penicuik. I don't think you gain much from living in Penicuik itself and it's quieter here. A lot of new houses gojng up in Roslin in next few years. Decent trails from the doorstep - locally and the Pents. 20/30 mins to GT / Innerz. I like it. But I'd move to Tweed V in a heartbeat personally.
