This is not quite the same as the usual mastik type, I think it comes in a strip that you roll out. It's on my 20 year old caravan and it's still soft, like plasticine.
I've been scraping most of it off with a screwdriver and cleaning the rest with white spirit, which dissolves it but somewhat reluctantly.
Any better ideas?
B&B?
It's stuck to the back of the awning rail so it's one long crevice... Scraper is ok for flat surfaces.
I'd suggest something like these.

I use them (or something similar) for work and they clean all kinds of shite. You might need to clean the area with them first, then use a scraper to remove what they haven't got. If the stuff you're scraping off is still slightly sticky, they'll help shift it.
I'd get a chisel that's exactly the right width for the groove and use that then.
Those big wipes look ace, available from B&Q too.
Maybe I'll cut an old credit card to have the exact profile for the extrusion.. hmm...

There are two things they clean in my game that nothing else touches: flooring adhesive (the stickiest bloody glue in the world) and expanding foam (until it's cured). If they can clean those, they can clean anything. They have two sides - a textured side (for what you want) and a smooth side for hands, smoother surfaces etc.
paving slab weeeder ?
(its like a knife with a downward pointing spike and you pull it along) or could you build your own of the correct width

WD40 is good for getting expanding foam and polyeurathane adhesive off stuff (your hands especially) before it cures too
sounds like butyl strip, that is super super sticky. I've never used anything to clean/remove it, but knowing its butyl might help you find a solvent or removerI think it comes in a strip that you roll out. It's on my 20 year old caravan and it's still soft, like plasticine
Most of those old caravan sealants were butyl based.
So should be easily movable with spirit or solvent.
you can get a solvent spray that is designed for cleaning expanding foam guns ?
